@vigouroso I can’t detest locust trees. Not only are they dying here in huge numbers but one of my most delicious woodland memories is from back when Black Rock woods was still full of tall black locusts and they were in bloom.

The entire wood smelled sweet like a dream and countless cedar waxwings were high above calling and snipping blossoms off at the back to get their nectar. So I was walking through the dappled light with wood thrushes singing, breathing the sweet, sweet breeze, with blossoms falling through the air all around me. It was like I’d walked into heaven. Or into a Studio Ghibli movie.
