More of Logan and Jed :]
Ryan did not enjoy riding the subway; way too crowded for her taste, but the moment she realized she was riding the same one as the homicide detective, she rode the subway an additional few stops away from the one she was actually supposed to get off on. And now here she was, standing in front a beautiful woman with their distance quietly closing in. @thelightxwithin
“You wanted to get me alone, huh?” A playful smile appeared on her face as she stepped in closer, her hand falling down on Logan’s waist, “You should’ve said so. I definitely would’ve taken you somewhere more quiet” Fingers curled around the fabric of her shirt to get some control, dragging her closer so their bodies locked. Their lips were less than an inch apart, but she refrained herself from initiating anything and instead released a short whisper.. “Take me home with you”
Logan smiled despite herself. This was in so many ways different from what had unfolded between her and Tara. Logan barely knew anything about this woman, aside from the fact that she was a good kisser, and an equally good lawyer. They were moving fast, but that’s what she needed out of this. Logan wasn’t trying to use Ryan. She didn’t know just how much she was using the other. “That, I can do,” she said, fighting the urge to close the distance between their lips. People were watching. She knew that people had been watching them since they got there. How often do two attractive women come into a pool hall? And then there was the fact that they were obviously flirting since the moment that walked in.
She thought about taking Ryan’s hand and just leaving, but she knew that would be kind of a shitty thing to do to the people who worked then. So instead, she leaned forward, letting their lips brush ever so slightly against each other, giving Ryan a taste, just a small taste before she turned to start cleaning up. It didn’t take long to knock the rest of the pool ball into their pockets, then to return the pool cues to the man behind the bar. She didn’t love the way he looked at her, making her feel like he was planning on using his imagen of what her and Ryan were about to do to pleasure himself later that night. She turned away from him and scrunched her nose, then she shook off that thought and smiled and Ryan. “Shall we take a cab this time?”

At it Again
It was all incredibly complicated. Yesterday night she got caught making out (and not the subtle kind) with her ex-girlfriend and current partner, at some officer’s houseparty. One of her co-workers filmed it, spread it around, it literally seemed like they were in high school. And even though it wasn’t a secret to most people that she used to shack up with her partner, the fact that they still were was not public knowledge. And now, if by some miracle she would’ve had any chance with Logan, that chance was gone now. So instead of her regular show up, Tara steered clear of the homicide department. Yet of course, she ran into Logan-LITERALLY not much later in the afternoon. “I’m sorry” Tara said, unsure which part she was apologizing for. @thelightxwithin
Meredith and Max were talking about something, sport maybe? Logan wasn’t paying attention. She was sitting at her desk looking at her phone as a video of Officer Lewis and her partner Officer Johnson having an intense makeout session on the couch at some party that Logan hadn’t been invited to. There was a division between the police officers and the detectives, but for some reason Logan had still been sent the video. The caption of the video was titled, They’re At It Again, which only raised more questions for Logan. She watched as Tara’s hand slid up the inside of Joanna’s shirt, then she pressed the lock button on her phone to make the screen go black. Logan sighed and got up. “I’m going to get some coffee, do you guys want anything?” Meredith shook her head, and Logan left the office. She walked down the hall, feeling low only to end up bumping into the very last person she wanted to see. “Oh, uh, no, I’m sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
“Tara, there you are, I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” It was Officer Joanna Johnson rounding the corner at just the right moment. “Have you seen this?” She asked, her phone in her hand, the video playing on the screen as she held it out. Logan looked away from the video, and wondered if it was okay for her to walk away. “I think I might beat the shit out of Officer Russell later for thinking it was a good idea to film us. Can I count on you for backup?”
A Brake in the Case
“Oh come on!” Tara exclaimed, sitting on Max’ desk. “You know i’m right. Which is exactly why you haven’t put a wager on it. You’re just too proud to admit it” Max leaned back in his chair and pulled a face, his gaze shifting to the woman entering the department, raising his hand as a ‘hi’. She knew exactly who came in, but she didn’t turn around yet. It would be too easy, too desperate. She would seem like a lost puppy every time the detective came in. “20 bucks. Try me or admit i’m right” she stated, Max pulling yet another face, but this time towards Logan. “Fine, fine, you’re right. You know how much I can do with twenty bucks? It’s not worth it. But don’t you have a job to do or something? Or are you just here to stalk my co-worker?”Tara’s face just crashed right there and then, luckily her back was facing Logan. “Yeah shit sorry, I used you as an excuse to flirt with Meredith” Tara hopped on her feet and passed Meredith’s desk. She was going to make a snarky comment but then Adriena came in and she was just in time to keep her mouth shut. “Have a good day” @thelightxwithin
Meredith smirked as she watched as Officer Lewis tried to get Max to bet on something with her. Max was kind of known for placing bets with other members of the precinct. She herself had an ongoing bet with Max that Anglea was crushing over someone that didn’t work with them. Meredith hadn’t met Charlotte yet, but the far off look on Anglea’s face when she was supposed to be looking over paperwork was all too familiar. Meredith herself had been caught with that look on her face by pretty much everyone on the team, aside from the one person who was the cause of the look. She looked back down at her own work, but her attention was brought back up when Max’s voice rose a bit. She looked over at the two again just in time to see Tara say that she was there to flirt with her. Meredith’s eyebrows rose as Officer Lewis walked past Detective Gray, who had just walked in. Oh jeez, first Officer Johnson, now this? Meredith was preparing herself to try and let Tara down gently, when Adriena came into the room, and Officer Lewis left quickly.
Logan was having a good day. After a solid hour at the gym, she had taken a soothing showr, now she was off to work, feeling good about the case that they were working on. She didn’t know why, but she had a good feeling that they were getting closer and closer to finding the missing person. She walked into the office with a skip in her step, that quickly moved to her heart when her eyes fell on Officer Tara Lewis. Logan and Tara had been hanging out a lot lately, and Logan was starting to catch feelings that she knew she shouldn't be feeling. She was about to say hello, when Max made a comment about Tara stalking his teammate and Tara admitted that she was there to flirt with Detective Webster. Logan swallowed and looked over at her new partner. Of course Tara was there for Meredith. Logan’s heart sunk. She moved to her own desk sitting down and looking down at the file she had just placed in front of herself. God she did not want to sit there and listen to Tara hitting on Meredith. She heard the door open and looked up to see Detective Anderson walk in, and Officer Lewis walk out. At least Tara seemed to know that she’d have competition if she was vying for Meredith’s affection.
It was about fifteen minutes after Tara had left the room, when Logan noticed something interesting in her paperwork. “I’ll be right back,” she said, getting up abruptly and hurrying out of the office. She made a B-line for Tara’s desk hoping that she wasn’t out patrolling. “Officer, Lewis, uh, Tara, you pulled over a group of frat boys yesterday for speeding, right?”
“How are you not completely hungover?” Logan asked as she looked over at her friend. They looked totally with the world, as if they hadn’t stayed up most of the night partying with Logan. “I kind of hate you right now.”
Josie nodded slowly, “I understand that but I can’t help feeling that a little self pity and what ifs is better than shutting out a huge part of your life and people who clearly cared about you.” She shrugged, “We all have regrets and what ifs but life changes and we have to move on but surely it’s better to embrace that change than to try and pretend it didn’t happen. I’ll never be a ballerina like I wanted to be when I was younger but that was a different chapter of my life and I look back fondly on the good memories and cherish them but I’ve accepted it wasn’t meant for me but it doesn’t mean I can’t still enjoy going to watch a ballet. It’s the same for you, enjoy it from a different perspective.” @itsrogersandco
Ballerina? That was a new piece of information to Logan. She was glad for a reason to take the spotlight of the conversation off of her for a little bit. “What redirected you from the path of becoming a ballerina?” She wasn’t trying to fully change the subject, or avoid her side of the conversation. She was just genuinely curious. Even now, asking this redirecting question Josie’s words were sinking in. If she didn’t at least try to reconnect with her college friends, then she would get caught up in a batch of new what ifs anyway. Why not at least try and see what happens? She was happy with her job now. That wasn’t going to change. . . right?
Josie reached out and took the woman’s hand in hers, her thumb rubbing over the skin gently, “I really think people would understand. What you went through was intense and as you say you did what you had to to survive. No one is going to be upset that you couldn’t carry on as normal. Things weren’t normal. Now though, when you are feeling stronger and I hope more positive then maybe it’s the time to reconnect with anyone that you have missed…..and anyone who can’t understand why you did what you did, well maybe they aren’t the friend that you thought they were.” @itsrogersandco
Logan’s eyes moved down to their hands, watching as Josie’s thumb moved. The touch was calming and reassuring, and a little distracting. She thought about what the other was saying, and tried to find her words. “It’s just. . .” How should she say this? “Part of me is worried that I’ll get caught up in all the what ifs if I let myself reconnect with my past.” She frowned. “Does that make sense?”
