I have a new fancast for Barney: Logan Ledger
Just look at that little grin!
And the screencap above doesn't really show it, but his hair also has a reddish tinge to it:
He just has an endearingly scruffy look, I think. :)

Song Review: Margo Price - “Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)”
Though it memorializes a 1948 tragedy, “Deportee (Plane Wreck At Los Gatos)” remains sadly relevant in 2026.
So much so that Margo Price and her band performed the Woody Guthrie song for the latest “CBS Saturday Morning” broadcast. Splitting leads and harmonizing with Logan Ledger, Price, obviously inspired by Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons, injects the classic-country sound into Guthrie’s first-generation of folk as she and Ledger sing:
You won’t have a name when you ride the big airplane/all they will call you will be/deportee
The sad, timeless nature of Guthrie’s composition notwithstanding, it’s the sad, timeless rendering that makes Price’s 78 years of time travel so effectual as she both looks back and pulls the past into the present.

Happy birthday, Logan Ledger. You are truly one of the finest artists I know. If I had a penny for every time I bragged about you or recommended your music to someone, I'd be a rich man. From your solo work to all of the great stuff you're doing with our wonderful friend Margo Price, I'm proud of you. And I'm grateful for all of the times you've happily allowed my camera in front of your face. Have a wonderful day, my friend.
Music Reviews: Tom Waits Reissues, plus Wilco, the Brother Boys, Logan Ledger, and a Nanci Griffith Tribute
Tom Waits had already traveled some miles off the beaten path when he released his first albums, 1973’s Closing Time and 1974’s The Heart of Saturday Night. Eschewing the melodic folk-rock styles of his Southern California musical contemporaries, he offered gruff vocals, bluesy, jazz-influenced music that evoked an after-hours session in a seedy bar, and lyrics that reflected the influence of…
