Chicago Med season 11 episode 21 Heaven Help Us

We need to do a real life update because it relates this episode.

Throughout several posts, I have informed people about my coworker crush. She has a boyfriend. During January, I told her I have feelings for her but I don't want to interfere with her relationship. She's been super cool about it.

After being rejected so many times, being friends with a crush is a lot less pressure.

Anyway, so about a month after that, I came to work knowing she had opened earlier. She's also really good friends with another one of my coworkers. This coworker was so upset that I asked her what was going on.

She said that my crush(leaving her name out for personal reasons) was on her lunch break and these men that said they were army recruiters, they kept following her and asking for her number. My crush was so upset that she left for the day soon after that.

She's back to work now and she doesn't want to make a big deal about it because they didn't touch her or anything but my brain when I heard everything.

I haven't felt protective urges like that in a while. I wanted to find those two so-called army recruiters and shove them off the nearest building.

This relates because of what happened with Kip today. I know Kip is not a real person but those protective instincts came out today when the Chicago PD converged on him after his outburst. Honestly, I'm still processing the whole scene.

Logan, did so well. I didn't know he could do emotional roles like this!

Congrats to Hannah and Dean! Mabel was not the name I expected but I love it.

Chicago Med season 11 episode 19 Exit strategies

John, I was so nervous during that entire episode. You deserve a prize, a drink, several drinks, anything you want.

Doctor King's first name is Jennifer?! That so doesn't fit.

Doctor Lovell seems much more subdued. Do I trust her yet, hell no but it's progress.

Caty, I wanted her to go for the wine bottle.

Kip, the curls aren't as crazy as they used to be and he had a much different role than I thought he would have. I was so nervous because I thought after the first comeback, he'd turned into a boring suit, but they fixed it.

Logan Miller has become this great love for me. I haven't seen everything he's been in because after both Escape Room movies, I kind of forget he existed. But it's an ongoing project to refamiliarize myself with him. Big big fan.

Eek, I was not ready for this episode. BUT I'm going away in a few days and I didn't want Kip's comeback hanging over my head. I thought Caty was going to experience symptoms earlier so I can prepare for the exit of a character who I loved from the beginning(Kip) and a character who I NEVER saw becoming so important to me(Caty).

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions

Early in Adam Robitel’s ESCAPE ROOM: TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS (2021, Tubi) — aka ESCAPE ROOM: NO WAY OUT, aka ESCAPE ROOM 2: DEADLY GAME —Taylor Russell and Logan Miller, the leads from Robitel’s 2019 ESCAPE ROOM, cause a disturbance on the Q Train, and Indya Moore looks up from the book she's reading with a world-weary moue worthy of Marlene Dietrich or Greta Garbo. The woman is a star, though there’s not much she can do with the convoluted thrills and spills of this franchise. I doubt that even La Dietrich could maintain her glamorous disdain while dealing with crisscrossed lasers, quicksand and acid showers.

Russell and Miller are the survivors of an earlier trip to a deadly escape room designed for unseen oligarchs who thrill to and bet on puzzles designed to kill the participants. Since Russell is afraid of flying, she and her friend drive from their Chicago college to New York, which no doubt upsets the escape room’s owners, The Minos Corporation, which at the end of the first film had been testing a puzzle on a jet just for them. Russell is dedicated to bringing Minos to justice, but by some unexplained miracle she and Miller are on a subway train with other survivors of the company’s escape rooms. The train becomes their first puzzle, and they move from there to a bank, a beach, a city scene and a playroom, all designed to test their reasoning skills and physical abilities.

Since this is basically the same plot as the first film, all that’s new is the cast of characters (all decent actors) and the puzzles, all of which are inventive if not always logical. Like the presence of the former winners in the same subway car, some of the puzzles rely a great deal on chance. Did nobody at Minos care if their later elaborate games went unplayed? There’s not a lot of time to the new establish characters, so we’re asked to empathize with types: the harried husband who’s always late (Carlito Olivero), the drunken priest (Thomas Cocquerel), the woman who cannot feel pain (Holland Roden) and the social influencer (Moore). Our response is triggered as much by our knowledge of the actors, so I was invested in the two leads from the earlier film because I was used to rooting for them and Moore, because she’s awesome. Had I recognized Cocquerel as the weak link in the first season of THE GILDED AGE, I probably would have wished for him to go first, no matter how good he looks with a beard (on his face; this isn’t that kind of review) and how much better he is here. Menudo fans might root for Olivero while those who doted on TEEN WOLF might hope Roden makes it to the end.

The film moves quickly, and it’s queasily entertaining. Though at times it feels like a more elaborate take on HOSTEL (2005), it’s not quite gory enough to be torture porn, so you don’t have to hide your eyes. It’s diverting, and the current political situation makes it seem more socially relevant than may have been originally planned. There’s a director’s cut that changes the ending to the point it probably wouldn’t allow the franchise to continue. Given the film’s impressive box office, I doubt that version will be considered canon.
