5/12/25 Update Log:
Lots of progress has been made this past week. Most importantly, prophantasia is closer than ever! Playing n back is really helping out in that regard. We've gone from Tri 2 Back (Position, Color, Audio) to Tri 2 Back (Position, Shape, Audio) to train for Quad 2 Back. If I haven't said before, the way we do this is that we'll play until we get three perfect runs in a row, then reduce time by 0.2s and repeat until we get down to 2s trials. However, we did modify the settings so instead of 3 matches per set it's 7 matches per set. This made the game harder, but also made progress faster. And this whole thing is making visualisation much better. At this point, I can actually practice prophantasia properly now; skills weren't good enough to do that last log.
Still meditating, but I need to sink more time into it.
Switching is the other big thing. Skill has definitely increased there as well. I haven't switched out in a while, but Scout switched in for 14 out of the 18 hours worked last week, and during those 14 hours:
1. I learned to stay present as time went on. Switching between first person and third person helped regulate fatigue. I also needed an anchor. Breathing wasn't a good choice since my breathing is still tied to the body's breathing, so I just went for footsteps. Encourages me to not stay in one place! I just visualize what the texture and temperature of the steps I'm taking, and that's enough to keep me from drifting back to front. Fuck, it takes diligence, though... It'll get easier over time.
2. Possible exercise to help with separation? We haven't tried it out yet, or maybe it already exists, but we're gonna do it. Whoever is fronting takes a picture with the phone's camera and lets whoever is switched out know about it. Next time a picture is taken (let's say in 30 minutes), the fronter asks the person switched out what they were doing at that time. The goal is to recall your individual memory and not the fronter's. Hopefully that makes sense.
