Bologna (Emilia). Palaces in the historic center. Piazza della Mercanzia and surroundings. a) Palazzo della Mercanzia (1384). Headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and formerly Loggia del Carrobbio or merchants, seat of the merchant court. Built in bricks and Istrian stone, the facade shows two deep Gothic arches. Above the arches, between the two mullioned windows, a small marble balcony protrudes from which the judges of the merchant court read the sentences, to the sound of the bell called "Lucardina". From the balcony rises an elegant spire that covers one of the dovetail battlements adorning the top of the building. Several other interior and exterior ornaments. The village in the fourteenth century was inhabited by a small community of Lombards, heirs of the ancient ancestors of the eighth century. In 1484, it collapsed above the Torre de 'Bianchi. b) Casa Seracchioli (13th century). It is located on the square on the side of Via Santo Stefano, along with other houses of medieval Gothic structure (Pasi, Reggiani, Bolognini ...). At its base is the oldest shop in the city (1273). The complex includes the Alberici Tower (12th century), cut off, now only 27 meters high. c) Palazzo degli Strazzaroli (1486). It rises under the two towers in Piazza di Porta Ravegnana. It has been home to the Feltrinelli bookshop since 1964, one of the liveliest centers for the dissemination and cultural promotion of the city. It was built for the Corporation of the Drapers, called Strazzaroli. #piazzadellamercanzia #palaces #loggiadelcarrobbio #gothicarches #merchantcourt #bologna #strazzaroli #lucardina #longobard #drapers #ancientancestors #torredebianchi #albericitower #seracchioli #instatravel #instagood #travelling #tourism #tourist #alterart #instatraveling #mytravelgram #travelgram #travelingram #igtravel #estremisti #ilmiolibro #sovversivi #massimopistis #alettieditore Information for the purchase of my new book: the book at a cost of 12.00 euros (120 pages), can be ordered in bookstores (ISBN 978-88-591-5719-9 - Publisher Aletti) or online on the page http: //www.alettieditore.it/emersi/2019/pistis.html from the link below. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwVZfS1lyYt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9wpxcszpfbys
