Something Really Annoying
There's an awful lot of confirmation bias out there - people who seek and view things only to reinforce what they already believe. That alone is annoying. What is even more annoying are those who make analytical mistakes: only looking a portion of something, and ignoring other changes to the larger structure, or making comparisons that are wholly inappropriate. These (and other methods) produce statements that sound true/good, but actually are not. In other words, they exploit common sense and ignore the existence of paradoxes. Unscrutinized sound bites.
So arguing that Iceland let its banks fail and turned out OK demonstrates that the US should have done the same thing indicates that someone is either not thinking too hard, or is just talking book. I'd love to take some time demolishing this, but I'll leave it to the experts, as I do have to work.
