for @logicalalo for kogkag secret admirer 2024! you said you enjoyed characters falling in love for the first time and the 'stuck together' trope so this is my (admittedly somewhat loose) take on that. i hope you enjoy!
the beauty of storms (kouga x kagome, inuyasha, rated: g)
“Kouga,” she breathed, pressing a hand to her heart as the sudden sharp surge of adrenaline passed. Kouga’s eyes lit upon her and brightened, lips tilting into a grin. “Kagome! I knew I caught your scent on the wind.” He was drenched, strands of dark hair plastered to his brow and fur limp with rainwater. Kagome regarded him silently for a moment, surreptitiously checking for signs of battle and relieved when she found none. “Been a while since you were in my neck of the woods,” Kouga quipped, approaching her. His footsteps left puddles in his wake, the hollow of his throat gleaming with rainwater, and as he pushed a clawed hand through his dripping fringe, Kagome found herself following the movement, a familiar pang in the pit of her stomach.
