           If the heir’s words were intended to be a  GENUINE COMPLIMENT  or  BACKHANDED  one could be left up for debate.  The only sure thing was how it caught her off guard.  Tensions between them and the prince were only just  beginning  to fade.  Lotor’s efforts in the confrontation between Zarkon couldn’t be ignored, that much was certain.  He ended the tyrant’s reign when  VOLTRON  only wounded him.  He aided in the  rescue  of her father, one of the reasons she was even there in the first place.  Yet something still felt wrong, and it wouldn’t be pushed to the back of her mind.  But, if she had to play nice to keep their alliance intact, she would in her own way.

KEITH’S REGRETS.

I couldn’t know your character and I didn’t get to see you with them to know wether or not I could’ve been able to figure out what you might do wrong. ❞ And maybe he didn’t quite have the whole story but none of that changed the HURT Lotor had caused the rest of his team.

32. — underneath

        HATRED. 

        It was the only word she could think of when she stared silently at herself in the mirror. Her hair was a mess, no longer having a need to brush it back. Armor discarded in random places around the room. She was never this untidy, she never let herself appear like a mess. But she was losing all CONTROL over her own body and mind. Her purpose in life was just gone, left to the void. 

         Instead of being there WITH HIM she was here, on board a ship’s comfort and safety while he was left to the blank void of the rift. He was all ALONE. 

         She should have been there for him. She SHOULD be there for him. 

         Guilt bubbled up inside her chest, choking her with all the words she had left unsaid. With what she HAD said. She never had meant it. That it was time to leave him behind. It was said out of ANGER and DESPERATION. That she could have meant enough to pierce the veil of his own VEXATION. Yet all she did was help shove him towards the tipping point. She was apart of his demise. 

         SHE had helped KILL HIM. 

         The need to scream bubbled yet only died silently in the back of her throat as a meek sob. Teeth clenching together as her head tipped downward in agitation. His word’s playing out again and again in her mind. 

         ‘Even my own generals betray me!” 

         ‘It was never my intent!”

         Was what she begged desperately in the void of her own thoughts. As if he could hear the own torture she was putting herself though. The punishment she inflicted on herself day in and day out since the day it happened. Barely even leaving her room much to the dismay of her two friends. 

           LOTOR had been the one person she could never give up on, and yet, she had. The moment those words of anger slipped past her. All her calculations and plans to ensure his safety had been thrown out the window. Everything she had done up to this point was now GONE. 

            The first time she had betrayed him was a calculated risk. Unwilling to take the chance that in their anger ZETHRID and EZOR would kill him. So, she took the shot for them. Bearing the weight of the betrayal on her shoulders while knowing full well he would at least LIVE. Ensuring he would be able to ESCAPE with his LIFE. 

             And now he was GONE. Her guilt was eating her ALIVE. 

            She would have searched to the end of the cosmos for him. Whatever he needed if she was able to give it she would have. Blind devotion, or perhaps more. He was the first person to ever take a chance on her. Instead of sneering down at her face due to her impure lineage. He stretched his hand out to her, gave her refuge, a home, and made her his right hand. She would have done anything within her POWER to see him become the person she knew he could be. The man he WANTED to be. And all she asked was to remain there, by his side. Never wanting planets, or status, riches, all she had wanted was to see his dream become a reality. 

             That everyone else could see the man who had taken in the lowly and treated them with high regards and adoration. 

             Now that will never happen. And she played a part in it. 

             She hated how vile she was UNDERNEATH it all. That she could betray him so easily in her own anger. That she was no better than the rest of them. That the monster she had feared to become was what she already WAS. 

               GALRA. 

               After all, all they are good at is DESTROYING life rather than saving it. How could she be so foolish to think she could be different? That he had made her different. 

                LOTOR had DESERVED better. 

                And no matter what happens, it will always follow her like a ghost. Those words she can NEVER take BACK.

Despite everything, I trusted you the most of them all. I'm sorry I never had the chance to reward you for that loyalty.
