in 2x03, the scene with her holding the dagger, about to kill victor then him saying 'im not that man you think i am. that isn't me. i can make my own choices.'
sylvie resonating with that and hesitating because it hit her that this wasn't he who remains. this was a VARIANT of him.
just like her.
she isn't the man everyone thinks she is. the TVA labelled her as a 'loki', even though that isn't who she is. sylvie's been branded as the variant she's supposed to be, even though she wants to make her own choices, and that's what led to the TVA hunting her down.
if she does this, if she kills victor, then she'll be just like them. if she can't believe a variant can become different than who he was supposed to be, then what does that make her?
