Poisoning, Again,
i dont know what he's looking at but im so scared...
The hall of Valhalla fell into a rare silence.
Not the silence of peace—but the silence that comes when even gods pause to listen.
At the center, Hilde stepped forward.
Her gaze cut across the gathered pantheon, unflinching.
“Humanity presents its next contender.”
A ripple moved through the arena as the name was spoken.
“Ada Wong.”
A pause—measured, intentional.
“A woman who does not belong to kingdoms, armies, or banners. A shadow that survives where others are meant to vanish. A human who has made survival itself an art form.”
Behind Hilde, the Valkyrie bound to her stepped forward—steel-blue eyes steady, expression unreadable.
“This is a Volundr.”
A weapon that is not merely forged—but sacrificed into existence.
“The Valkyrie who will become her armament will not remain separate. She will not simply ‘wield’ a weapon…”
Hilde’s voice lowered.
“She will become it.”
The Valkyrie’s form begins to fracture into light—runes igniting along her body as her existence is rewritten.
“In response to Ada Wong’s nature—precision, misdirection, lethality without excess—her Volundr takes the form of a shifting armament: a compact sidearm that can reconfigure mid-combat, folding into blades, hooks, and threaded ballistic lines. A weapon that never commits to one truth—because neither does she.”
The light settles.
A single, elegant weapon remains in Ada’s grasp—cold, silent, adaptable.
Then Hilde turned her head slightly.
“And her opponent…”
The arena darkened.
A presence slid into the space like laughter behind a locked door.
“God of Trickery. King of Lies. The one who turns truth into theater.”
“Loki.”
A soft exhale of amusement echoed from the shadows.
Hilde did not look away.
“Remember this, gods.”
“If Ada Wong falls in this arena, she will not simply die.”
A beat.
“She will cease to fully exist.”
Not erased as memory.
Not sent to an afterlife.
But unraveled from the narrative of being itself—her soul severed from continuity, as if she had never stepped into existence at all.
A finality even gods rarely dared name aloud.
Hilde raised her arm.
“Humanity’s fate… now rests on a woman who has never once survived by being seen.”
“Let the match begin.”
- Loki God of Mischief
“Loki?” The name tasted like salt over her tongue, wasn’t that a Viking god of sorts? Her hand turned the oddly familiar Volundor in her hand, eyes studying it as if she held no concerns over the god himself. She had seen far too many ‘gods’ brought down by less.
Heels clicked around as the announcer shouted to the people in the stands. “Ada will be facing Loki in an arena we have titled The City that refused to die.” Ada’s eyes rolled and her head shook, weight resting against her left hip. “No rest for the weary.”
She raised the Volundor and shot, the form currently in her signature grappling hook. She whisked herself to a nearby rooftop of a caving in gas station. Ada’s eyes narrowed looking down at the weapon. “You can be what I want you to be huh?”
A voice echoed in her head, shocking her enough her own eyes widened. “Yeah dumbass, I adjust to your needs.” Ada’s lip curled sighing. “Weapons are ment to be seen not heard.” She brushed her fingers over it, watching the form adjust into that of a sniper rifle. “God of mischief huh?.. Let’s see who’s really the God of lies.” She kicked her boot to the ledge angling the rifle, using the scope to scan the area.
