I was just reading through your blog (hopefully not weird), and I agree that people like to dumb down Shownu for some reason. Aybe because he doesn't talk much or stays toward the back, but he is clearly not stupid. He can be a bit goofy, but they all are. Minhyuk and Jooheon are balls of energy, and I've never heard their intelligence questioned. Maybe I'm super defensive because I love him so much, but I would defend anyone that was reduced as he seems to be. Maybe I'm ranting, (as I'm very much like him in many ways) but his being shy and quiet shouldn't be a reason for thinking ill of him.

Like you I do agree that all of the monstas are goofy af and it’s great that they all literally play along w one another which I think is one of the ways this group is so close that they can handle it and go along w each other’s jokes but the joohyuk point is so so valid bc yes. I don’t think I’ve ever read or seen anyone call either dumb the same way I’ve seen a multitude of tweets and tiktoks (and sometimes even) yt vids saying Shownu is dumb and not actually joking about it or calling him a “himbo” for joohyuk it’s usually always that they share a brain cell and even w that we all know it’s just a joke that they’re silly like that or maybe it’s the way they present whatever they’re doing? Bc their comedic style and energy is similar and is definitely not the same as Shownu’s... I think it really does come down to how quiet he is and how he doesn’t always rise to the spotlight in group interviews and shows, etc. it’s usually always the hosts or the monstas that bring it out of him and then suddenly everyone that doesn’t particularly know Shownu gets surprised over how funny and witty and charming and intelligent he really is which is a shame bc this just means ppl have these preconceived notions??? But at the same time could this really just stem from his appearance? The “himbofication” of it all????? Bc w Hyungwon who is equally as quiet or even more so than Shownu I have never in all of the years that I’ve been a mbb seen anyone say Hyungwon was not smart besides the monstas joking w each other about it (or the microwaved egg thing which I mean cmon Hyungwon... why...) but again this is bc they play around like this... If anything I’ve just seen ppl calling him stand-offish and reserved which is another preconceived notion... And if you’re ranting and being defensive (not saying it in a negative way) then so am I bc I agree 100% I don’t know how being shy/quiet can equate to not being smart I’ve never understood that and frankly I really hate that stereotype
