oh! this would be interesting, I’ve never thought of this.
I’m not sure how Angrboda would come to the decision, since she has three kids with Loki. idk, maybe she doesn’t want a fourth, but I feel like by that point they’d’ve hopefully talked about it? but also the other myth I know about the birth of Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Hela involves Loki eating Angrboda’s heart out of the ashes of the fire in which she was burned for being a witch and then basically vomiting up their kids right after, sooo...
Sigyn, though. maybe she comes to the decision for the same reasons as here, in which case it’d be some of the same angst and then mutual hurt/comfort, which would be so good because I just want to wrap my Loki in a giant hug and apologize for ever hurting him (even though I’ll totally do it again). BUT maybe she sees what Loki’s other children are like and she thinks they’re monsters, or maybe she sees what Odin has done to them, or it’s after what happened to Nari and Vali and she can’t bear to consider another child, or maybe she doesn’t want children at all and so she comes to the decision to abort. but Loki does want (more) kids, I can’t really imagine him not if I’m bringing in any sort of mythological aspect to his character beyond purely Marvel, and that would be so much ANGST and CONFLICT. oooh, maybe this is what ends their relationship? (I say this purely so that I can pair Loki with Tony and/or Bucky later, ehehe)
or, OR! maybe there’s some sort of magical effect on either of them and it’s an accidental abortion?! or it’s unwanted but necessary?!?! dear god, that’d be so. much. ANGST. and hurt/comfort.
I don’t know that I’ll end up working this into any of my current ideas for fics with Loki & Kids, but it was fun to consider!
