Felix’s first plan for the Halloween party had been to go naked and tell everyone that his costume was baby Jesus. But he’d settled on something he found far funnier: a cat onesie with a big fluffy tail and a cat-eared hood, plus a large box that he’d written Schrodinger’s Cat on the side of. While everybody was mingling, Felix parked himself near the drinks table, artfully seated in the box, legs thrown over one side.

“I don’t need a sexy costume,” he said loftily, to someone who had just asked the equivalent of why the onesie. “I’m hot all the time. Tonight, I’m adorable.” He reached a hand up, covered by the paw of the sleeve, waggling it in a demanding manner. “Now pass me a drink, I can’t reach from down here.”
