[ SWIPE FOR PROGRESSIONS ] People have been messaging me to ask how I built up the strength to perform various fingertip exercises like pushups and handstands, so I figured I should share some progression ideas. I am excited y'all are experimenting! . 😀 #FingertipHandstands took a lot of work and patience and for some reason I haven't been able to do them since last Summer. But the easier fingertip stuff I just tried one day a couple years ago, and was able to execute them no problem. I am assuming this was from holding dumbbells for a couple of decades or 8 years of boxing training, or maybe because power yoga was a big part of my 20s and I relied on my fingertips a lot because of my T-Rex arms lol. 😀 . Swipe left - fingertip #upwardDog, various planks, one-arm tripods (I accidentally deleted the fingertip tripod photo so I will post a video in my stories 😀) are all easier ways to build up to pushups. They feel vulnerable at first but strength develops fast. When I worked up to fingertip handstands I spent months doing a hybrid dolphin pose/decline pushup thingy lol. I tried inverting myself in different ways with my feet on my bed, back on the wall and fingertips on the ground. Eventually I was able to kick my feet up and finish with a fingertip handstand against the wall. . . *Disclaimer: consult a personal trainer before trying hybrid anything. 😁 Hybrid = possible injuries. .
