If there were ever to be a visual adaptation of the goblin emperor, they absolutely have to have a smaller, stylistically distinct, Lizzie McGuire-style maia, who's there to scream/cry/throw up/violently bash his head against the wall as a representation of his inner feelings while real maia has to plaster on court-perfect neutral expressions.
There's something so fantastic about starting a well hyped longfic and it's like yeah this idea is compelling but it is. shoddily written. Like not enough for me to stop but it's not written well. and then over the course of 100k+ words and 3-4 years of update time their style so gradually improves and and before you know it you're reading a story of a now very skilled writer and you didn't even notice it happening. And you're genuinely proud of this person.

There's a certain kind of impending doom about coming up on the last few chapters of a very very long incomplete fic that hasn't been updated in 3 years and the author has published nowt else in that time.
Like I know the mystery won't get resolved and the slow burn won't catch but I just gotta get what I can out of it. Better to have loved and to have lost, etc.
I can't remember the actual wording but the "Even Transports use cloned human neurological tissue" bit is such a fucking ART tease I squealed.
I can't even be remotely mad at the extra plot elements in murderbot tv because they are REALLY digging into all the reasons the PresAux team have to distrust MB and how their compassion is at war with their fear and it's so JUICY.
"And then I exploded LeeBeeBee's Head. And that felt good." are you fucking KIDDING me.
Also the use of horror techniques. Last episode where instead of just getting up to show it's not paralysed it's suddenly just IN gurathin's space and on his neck between camera cuts. And just immediately killing LBB with no real build up. I'm eating.
Finishing up a request and i'm gonna close them for a bit. Just for a short while. It takes me a while to write requests because I put a fair amount of effort into them. I'll put up when they're open again but once I've finished this one, they'll be closed. I'm even struggling with this one. Like, I don't know how to progress into the smutty stuff, I've got to a point and I just keep getting increasingly frustrated with it because I can't make myself feel motivated. I want to, but the more I force it, the more it doesn't happen. I think I'm starting to work out that I have to also be a little attracted to the people I write about otherwise I'll struggle with it. And I am struggling with it at the moment.
Edit to add: I've been trying for hours now and i'm going to stop and unfortunately any requests I've gotten so far, I won't able to complete. I'm going to end up going into a writing slump if I keep pushing it and I don't want that.
