This is pretty odd to just see as it's gone to limit such a specific detail. I get that there is black face and how that's a touchy subject. But saying that drawing masculine and thick lips is racist is a stretch. If that's the level of sensitivity we are maintaining then why aren't we getting mad over people drawing anime eyes? Which at it's root of origin mainly to portray Asian characters? Wouldnt it be racist to draw OC's with anime features?
There’s nothing masculine about those lips. It’s black face. If you really got it you would understand how bad it is. Your excuse is flawed as well, anime style was created in Japan by Japanese people to depict themselves. Large balloon lips were created by white people to make fun of black people.
Honestly this is really simple, the style was created as a racist caricature so don’t use it.
