Élise didn’t know how all of this had happened. She remembered clearly their fight with Germain; she knew he had almost killed her that day. Arno probably thought she was dead. But no: she had been sent in another time period, but she was back now, in her real time. From what she had seen in the newspapers, there were in 1796, so she had disappeared for 2 years. It wasn’t much, but she was still NERVOUS to come back like this. For her, it had been only a few weeks, but for Arno... It had been much more. She still decided to wait for him in front of the Café Théâtre. She sat in the stairs, and waited, feeling her heart pumping inside her chest.
“Arno...” She said, as she finally saw him approach. She didn’t move for now; maybe she was a bit scared to do so.

The light sensation of rain had drawn the woman free of the candy shop. Eyes wide, and curious towards the sky, recoiling only slightly when a drop manages to drip into her eye. With a small smile, her pale digits curled beneath her lid to sweep away excess water and resume enjoying the comfort of the soon misty rain.
Red curls bounced under a shawl, messily tied back to keep it somewhat sorted. Her clothes were simple; modest, and spoke of her station as a working woman with just enough money to keep her shop stocked with freshly made goods, and pay the expenses of everyday life. Muddy streets were soon greeted with footfalls from dirty boots, leading her out into the quieting roadway as dusk settled across Paris.
As the rain drenched the already sludgy streets, she heard a strange commotion just down the path. A young man easily in his mid-teens had fallen to his knees before a group of men intent upon beating him to death. He looked awful, and clearly held no ability to fight back.
Realizing the situation, the redhead rushed to his aid without hesitation. She pried her way through the men to stand between them and the boy, straightened and without fear. “That’s quite enough!” the woman barked sharply, “You’ve well made your point. Go on!” For a moment the men seemed inclined to leave with a gruff, angered look seated on the bold woman. Unfortunately that was not the case. As suddenly as the men had turned, one reared back and sent the woman staggering back into the mud away from the boy. They had forgotten about the teen who took off afraid, and wounded.
As quickly as she had fallen, she tried to return to her feet, determined not to back down from the bullies. Another threw another punch which struck her torso hard enough to knock her to her knees. She was completely at their mercy, and it seemed everyone around them was too afraid to intervene.
