i think i'll start a new job today
today i started a new job. after temping and working erratically for the last eight months since coming back from india today i remembered what it felt like to be part of something with potential. a job that is more difficult and takes longer to learn than half an hour. a job that entails more than answering phones and sending emails and making photocopies. i think i first realised this when i arrived and immediately was told there would be a three day induction and shadowing period after that. and then we sat down without notes and i received a fascinating history of hackney and the demographics of the borough and services for vulnerable people. funny how quickly you can feel a part of something worthwhile.
tomorrow is day two. we'll see how it goes.
One Massive Room to Create... FOOD
Street Feast is one of my favourite places to visit in London. It's London's only weekly night market dedicated mostly to food. It's one giant space bringing together some of the best food traders who create innovative, quality yummy food.
Street Feast is currently (autumn/winter) based in Hackney Downs Studios on Friday nights. The market also features art, fashion and music - what's not to like I say!
