We had tools that were previously stored on shelves (wasting a significant amount of vertical space),which we hung at the end of our aisles using common nails padded with polyethylene foam. Now we have more shelf space.

We had some leftover pegboard (perforated masonite boards) and used it everywhere we could: to create vertical storage racks for long and thin objects, for objects that would have taken up too much shelf space, or as shelves for light objects such as baskets.
