aLRIGHT so. to be clear these are my opinions, nothing I am stating is unequivocal fact, some of these opinions may be unpopular, some of them are about yoonmin some of them are about purveying narratives surrounding them, either way this is all just me thinking out loud
I don't know or care if yoongi and Jimin ever went through a "breakup". More than likely any tension that people cite as "breakup tension" is stress or exhaustion from being global superstars and has little to nothing to do with how they feel about each other.
To THAT POINT if yoongi and jimin ever had any type of breakup it wouldn't make their relationship less real or less valid, people who lose their shit at the implication that they've ever had a rough patch are weird and should look inward and take it down a notch.
I don't think Jimin gets enough credit for how obsessed he is with Yoongi. The fandom, rival shippers, and sometimes even yoonminers like to act like Yoongi is the only one down bad but it's so clearly mutual with Jimin often initiating more public displays of affection.
I think it's very possible that Yoongi has written songs for and about Jimin. Do I think we've heard them? Not sure. But I know Jimin has heard a few.

People who consistently dismiss yoongi and jimin as being brotherly or even dad-son like are being so weird . They are not related and their age gap is literally two freaking years. You'll usually hear this from rival shippers whod rather close their eyes cover their ears and say lalalalla than make room for nuance.
The deliberate cutting short of Yoonmin moments from official content I think is done with yoonmin's knowledge and cooperation. I think they both value their privacy and Big Hit, while not perfect, has worked extremely hard to give it to them so that they can retain a sense of normalcy.
In order to fully understand Yoonmin you have to watch full length content and not edits. Edits are not able to do justice to their dynamic. I watch full length content on their YouTube and weverse and for older stuff, I use BTS Subs which sorts subtitled videos into era and by member.
I think Hybe is very deliberate about which duos they show and don't show as often. I think the duos that get more screentime, are deemed as "safe" they bring in the money, the Twitter trends, and serve as a distraction while presenting little to no risk to the actual business of BTS. (Iykyk)
I think Jimin and Yoongi have gaming nights over at jimin's house and that's why there's two chairs in that one room in his house.
I think yoonmin were very strategic about constantly referencing each other in 2023 and hanging out in private while letting fans know about it (new York, both birthdays, sushi date, working out etc). I think they're testing the waters to how it feels to be more open with the fan base
I am not as concerned with the logistics of Yoongi and jimin's relationship (monogamous. Vs poly , married vs dating, etc) I certainly don't think their relationship is platonic and I doubt it's been platonic anytime recently.
I think some of the most damning evidence that Yoongi and Jimin had something going on is how Jimin acted when Yoongi was out for surgery and how they clung to each other after Yoongi was fully back.
Yoongi and Jimin consistently say romantic and soft stuff to each other and I find that more interesting to analyze and theorize about than their ""bickering"" dynamic
I don't think the start date of yoonmins relationship matters so much and idk why people argue about it lol. They've always been "🏳️🌈 👁️👁️?"So who cares when they made it "official"

This is absolutely going to be at bare minimum two parts lmao. Just a heads up!
Music Thoughts
When I first heard muse I thought it sounded like the bright side of Face. So I was excited to hear Jimin confirm my suspicions that he had worked on Muse at the same time as Face.
What I found interesting about the title Muse is it does the same thing as the title Face in that it has two meanings.
Face: your face, but also to face something.
Muse: An artist’s muse, or to think about something.
I think muse plays with this idea of having two meanings. Throughout the album Jimin is talking about an imaginary muse while also musing of what would it be like to experience those feelings for someone again. Jimin spoke about how the crush feelings he had to pull from his younger producer due to not feeling those feelings super recently (makes sense if you’re with someone for a while the feelings of crushdom fade away to something else entirely)
Overall I love Muse. I think it's a fun summer album that feels like a bright spot in a pretty dark time and I'm grateful that Jimin saw fit to share it with us especially with him being gone.
Yoonmin thoughts:
Disclaimer, I don’t think this album is about Yoonmin, Jimin all but told us it wasn’t. That being said I do think some elements of things that I’ve come to associate with Yoonmin and their relationship show up throughout the album and its aesthetic and I’m excited to break it down!
Lets talk about the pre-release:
Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (SGMB)
First off the aesthetic of the MV is Blue and Yellow.
Blue and Yellow are colors that are significant to Yoonmin.
Yoonmin both stated back in a magazine interview that you can read through here that Yellow describes their relationship.
Yoongi has written lyrics stating that another name for the color love is blue
Yellow and Blue also show up in the serendipity video which many Yoonminers have written up theories about so feel free to go check those out!
So we see in the SGMB music video Yellow and Blue is super present. And beyond that throughout the promotions yellow and blue interacted a lot as well. Check out the video
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on the Yellow/blue of it all because every yoonminer has lol. I am going to highlight a few things that stuck out to me.

I also saw a lot of people associating the blue mushroom to blue mold but I actually thought the blue covered rocks look a LOT like what blue penicillium (actual blue mold) looks like
The album/song itself Jimin stated was written primarily in April 2023. The whole album is about feeling excited to love and care for someone so I find it interesting that Jimin felt inspired to write about then around the exact time that JImin would have been visiting Yoongi in the US where they spent a lot of time together, flirted backstage, and then rode back to the hotel and did the Fated Yoonmin live.
I also found it interesting that Jimin stated that he thought about naming the album off of SGMB the song. It's obviously a song that he really enjoyed making and the fact that it was a title track I can tell it was a song that he really enjoyed.
I'm going to end part 1 here before I get into the lyrics because THE LYRICS on muse deserve a spotlight allllll their own, so please look forward to it. Heres a cheeky little Yoonmin to end it with

Jimin is the body of BTS. At least that's how he was marketed in the earlier stages of BTS' journey. Jimin,the cheeky boy who showed off his abs for their debut single. Jimin, the adolescent crossing into adulthood, ripping off his shirt at the Mama awards show. Jimin, who delicately lifted his shirt during Serendipity to entice and tease the audience. Jimin and his body have always been a package deal, with Jimin's early idol persona being directly linked to the visuals of his body.
We know from the members that there was a lot of pressure around maintaining their bodies. With Jimin expressing how he would engage in toxic dieting practices, including not eating for hours or days on end while also pushing his body to the point of exhaustion in order to simulate perfection. Jimin's relationship with his body is unique and required a lot of mental growth before he expressed more comfort in his body not looking cookie-cutter perfect at all times.
Jimin is a dancer. Anyone who has danced or is familiar with dancers knows that their body is an instrument. They stretch it, push it, and manipulate it to make wonderful art. Jimin is no different. He was trained in modern dance prior to BTS and is a lead dancer within the group and one of the best dancers in Kpop. Dancers keep their body in excellent shape and they tend to keep it unmarked. This is so there is no interruption of visuals while the dancer performs. The intent of a blank body within dance is to keep the focus on the skill as well as the choreography. Ink, especially bold wordy ink, would be a distraction.
Dancers strive to be strong, blank canvases for choreographers to communicate their art through. Obviously with Jimin being a dancer in an idol group expectations are slightly different as he is not usually as naked as most contemporary or modern dancers are however the sentiment remains the same.
Jimin is an idol. Idols try their best to appeal to their fans and to the masses. Idols have the unique task of showing off their personality while still remaining opaque enough to allow their fans to project the image they want to see onto them. For this reason, idols tend to stray away from piercings and tattoos. They remain as blank as possible for their audience. There is an extra layer in the fact that tattoos are not as widely accepted in Korea. While there has been progress made and clearly Jimin and the other members have bucked expectations by all having tattoos it's still understood that for the most part idols should not have tattoos or piercings and if they do they are not permitted to be shown off.
So now what. With all this information we know that Jimin has tattoos. He was able to get past the expectations that were thrust upon him by society and by himself. The question is how. The answer is love.
The tattoos on Jimin's body all come from a place of love.
We know that the moon (and the stars ) is something Jimin loves,he's shown us the galaxy lamp he has in his room, he's taken multiple photos of the moon, and he's been stargazing multiple times. That love manifested in a moon tattoo.
We know that 13 is his birthdate as well as the birthdate of BTS. Jimin has spoken in depth about his journey to self love and his love for the members and the life he's built with BTS. That love manifested as the number 13 tattoo

The 7 friendship tattoo needs no explanation, but obviously that was done out of love as well
We understand that when Jimin chooses to put ink to skin, that he doesn't do it lightly. There is meaning and purpose in his tattoos and more importantly, there is love. Which brings me to the "Nevermind tattoo"
I talk in depth here about why I know that the Nevermind tattoo has significance however for the sake of this post and for any newcomers I'll give a brief summary.
Nevermind is a Yoongi Solo song on the album HYYH PT 2. The song is an autobiographical song about Yoongi's struggle for success amongst the naysayers. I would highly encourage you to read the lyrics.
This song is completely about Yoongi. It addresses struggles specific to Yoongi, references places where Yoongi worked on his music, it even made it on the Agust D tour setlist which was a retrospective of the last 7 years of Yoongi's life through his music.
So the question remains is why did Jimin, in 2018, at one of the tipping points of BTS' career choose to get Nevermind tattooed on his ribs. Why did he then proceed to show it off during his solo song "Serendipity" (a song about love that cannot be stopped btw) for everyone to see.
The answer lies in why Jimin gets all of his tattoos. Love. The thesis of Jimin's tattoos doesn't change for the Nevermind tattoo. One could argue that the source of Jimin's habit of declaring his love in black ink comes from the Nevermind tattoo as to the best of Army's knowledge it was one of,if not thee first tattoo he ever got.
One wonders what must have Jimin been feeling to get this done. The man who pushes and strives for perfection, the man who has described himself as an "old man" when it comes to right and wrong, what love could have born the need to mark his body in such a way?
If you ask this author's opinion I would say that I think Jimin was feeling a lot of emotions around the time, from fears of the band breaking up, increased scrutiny, and grappling with what it means to be fully himself in the spotlight. I think the nevermind tattoo was a reminder that he is strong and loved. I think the tattoo is a reminder and a declaration of that love and strength right back to the Nevermind composer. I think if Jimin, a picture perfect idol, trained in classical dance, can engrave Nevermind on his chest there is no telling what he can or will do next.
In truth, only Jimin and Yoongi know the depth of the nevermind tatto. But one thing is for certain, the love and care runs deep and for that I am grateful.

💛Yoonmin VS The World- Or why people don't ship yoonmin, and why it doesn't really matter.💛
It's no secret that Yoonmin is often dismissed amongst the shipper community. Jikookers and Taekookers alike will often dismiss Yoonmin as being "platonic" or "sweet" but not having what they feel makes their ship "special" When asked what that "specialness" is the shippers will often talk in circles or not be able to identify exactly what it even is.
I can tell what other shippers are referring to even if they, themselves can't quite put their finger on it, and it's very simple! Most BTS ships are meant to meet the three main pillars of shipping that shippers want to see: Fan Service, SkinShip, and Secrecy.
I'll dive into all these pillars in a moment but I want to leave a few disclaimers:
I'm not commenting on the "realness" of any other ship, if you think your ship is a little fruity and kisses sometimes, good for you! This post is more to address how shippers think than the actual ships themselves.
I'm a Yoonmin Blog, obviously, everything I say is going to be geared towards addressing their relationship, I'm not going to be diving into the components of other ships in this post.
If you like the shipper ideals and you think Yoonmin isn't "real" because they don't meet them, that's totally cool too just don't tell me cause respectfully i don't care 🫶

Regarding Fan service:
Within every duo, there is a little bit of fan service! There are two types of fan service: platonic and romantic,. Platonic fan service can be seen in a duo like Sope and 2seok. Sope who will do lives together or 2seok who will often get paired on trips to walk around being goofy together. These platonic pairings are usually designed to make people laugh and smile nothing more, nothing less.
Then we have romantic fan service. By romantic fan service I am not saying any of these pairings are romantic in nature, I am saying that when they are paired together they are meant to mimic to a fan what a relationship with the members could feel like.
Fan service can come with gazing into each other's eyes on stage, being overly touchy, dancing together, etc. Obviously, fan service extends beyond the stage but lets keep the focus here for now.
Here's some examples of Romantic Fan Service we've seen:
All of these moments are meant for the fans. These moments aren't accidental or improvised no matter how much they seem like they are, they're planned out as most aspects of their concerts are to delight the fans!
There's nothing wrong with Fan Service! It's fun and it allows the audience to feel like they're having a moment with the members on stage. In a lot of ways though fan service serves as a gateway to people beginning to ship members.
Lets look at Yoonmin's on stage moments in comparison to the moments we saw above:

I think the difference between the romantic fan service moments and Yoonmins moments are obvious. These moments that they share aren't designed to make fans go "oooh🥺" they're not meant to make you scream. They're meant to be what they are, yoongi and jimin have fun together on stage.
For shippers who are looking for their ship to participate in romantic fan service , for whatever reason, Yoongi and Jimin aren't going to be the ship for them. Which is obviously fine, if doing romantic fan service on stage for thousands of people was what it took to be in a relationship, I imagine the majority of the world would be out of luck.
Regarding Skinship:
First let me state that everyone within BTS participates in Skinship. Some more than others and some less than others, I personally think Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jin fall into the less than others category while the Maknae line and J-hope fall into the more than category.
You'll often see a variety of touches within BTS with Taehyung lovingly modeling some touches below:
There is often an idea within the shipping community that in order for the ship to be legitimate that the duo must do skinsip but also that the skinship must be flirty, sexy, or hot. We can see this by looking at what comes up for certain ships when you type in skinship:
It can't just be that the ship touches each other, the touch has to do the same thing fan service does which is to illicit a response within the shipper. The skinship that the shippers themselves are not engaging in is still supposed to meet the purpose of making the shipper feel a certain way inside.
With that in mind let's look at some of the ways Yoonmin touches each other:
While looking at these touches I wouldn't describe them as flirty, sexy, or cute. I would describe them as grounding, familiar, comforting, and intimate.
Yoonmin happens to touch pretty often. However because their touches are often more subtle, and not aimed to be overly public it can easily be overlooked. Which again is fine, I don't think that Yoonmin touches each other with the hope that their skinship ends up in a video with over 100K views.
Finally, for perhaps the most controversial one, secrecy. Or at least the idea of secrecy.
There is a common idea amongst same-sex shippers that the reason why their ship hasn't outright acknowledged the ship, or given more clear indications that they're together is because there is a need for secrecy
Out of respect to other blogs I won't screenshot any of the things that I often read are supposedly happening in other ships due to "secrecy" but I'll summarize some of the general sentiments here:
Person A is scared to come out even if Person B is ready.
Person A and Person B cannot date out loud due to "society"
Person A and Person B cannot date out loud due to their company preventing them from doing so.
Person B and Person A are both in the closet.
Person A/B is making Person A/B be less obvious for person a/b's comfort.
Person A/B is so busy so they DO see each other just not when any shipper knows about it.
Person A and Person B can't control themselves around each other on camera that's why they avoid each other/arent seen together.
Person A and Person B ARE together and Person C who a/b is dating/close to is a beard/media play.
The overall sentiment is obvious. Person A and Person B cannot be loud about their relationship or how they feel about each other for whatever reason usually going back to something completely outside of their control.
This veil of "secrecy" helps shippers excuse almost anything that's happening or not happening in their ship. Person A doesn't talk about person B? Pick one of the reasons. Person B is closer to Person C? Pick a reason! Person B or Person A has said they're not dating? That can be explained away! Just pick a reason!
But once again, Yoonmin completely goes against the rules of "secrecy" within shipping I've already written a partial list detailing yoonmin moments throughout 2023 that you can check out here
But in general, Yoongi and Jimin have never been "secretive" about their connection. Here are some things I know about Yoonmin's relationship just because of what they've told us.
Jimin knows what Holly's dog toy sounds like.
Jimin spent chuseok with Yoongi's Family in 2016(?)
Jimin called Yoongi before and after Yoongi's surgery.
Jimin and Yoongi play video games together
Jimin and Yoongi are drinking buddies
Jimin went with Yoongi to several rehab sessions
Yoongi and Jimin work out together
Jimin loves when Yoongi cooks for them on vacation
Yoongi was with Jimin after Jimin won the billboard.
The list goes on and on but alas it's clear that Yoongi and Jimin are not secretive about how much time they spend together. They often mention each other in interviews, in weverse lives, during fan meetings, whenever they can. If there's a chance to talk about how much they value and care for each other Yoongi and Jimin will do so and they will do so without any underlying feeling of fear.
However, while Yoonmin is not a secretive ship it is a private one. While we know that Yoongi and Jimin hang out together and speak often they do not share photos or vlogs of these moments. They'll often state that they've seen each other or spoken that day but not go into detail about what they've spoken about, or what they were doing or provide any proof of it other than their word. Some could argue that the lack of secrecy in exchange for privacy works for them in that if we know they're hanging out there is no need to dive deeper into what those hangouts look like. Yoongi and Jimin enjoy letting us know that they care about each other but how that caring looks, when off camera, is for them and only them to know.
In a lot of ways, I think the failure to maintain "secrecy" is the real underlying reason why people look past Yoongi and Jimin. If as a shipper you believe that "Person A/Person B are living their lives in secret because insert reason here" Then of course a duo who doesn't bother with being secretive about their love for each other isn't going to strike you as interesting but if Yoongi and Jimin tried to force themselves into fitting into the starcrossed lovers trope that shippers often utilize they wouldn't be being true to themselves.
All of which is to say, it's pretty obvious why some people elect to focus on other ships and overlook Yoonmin. With yoonmin you will not get romantic fan service, overly obvious skin ship, or a ship that's meant to be "a secret"
With Yoonmin you will get two men who love and care about each other, who enjoy spending time together and who love their Fans. I can't think of anything better than that.

If anyone wanted to know and understand why I shipped Yoonminm they would need to see this video. While this video is not the foundation of my yoonmin love, it perfectly encapsulates their relationship in a really short timeframe and has everything I love about them. It's not a secret that Jimin loves a good role play moment. You can watch it on Run BTS when usually with tae they'll pretend to be other people in order to amuse themselves. Jimin does it in Bangtan bombs as well. He loves doing a little bit! In this video we see yoongi joining in on the fun, pretending to be an army, asking him to do the sorry I'm cute challenge he does the role play very well and Jimin indulges him by pretending momentarily yoongi is an army asking him to do the sorry for being cute challenge and not the love of his life.
When I do this I'll think of you
Obviously, I have to talk about the sorry for being cute challenge, itself. The challenge started out as a trend on social media that Yoongi saw Soobin from TXT doing. After this, he shared it with Jimin as we saw on suchwita and it took off from there to essentially become Yoonmin's challenge.
Jimin mentioned the challenge multiple times throughout his face promo and always referenced that Yoongi had told him he needed to practice. Even telling Yoongi that he had practiced it.
But it wasn't just Jimin, Yoongi did the challenge a couple of times for Army too during his own fan sign event as well as his in person Fan meeting. Them doing it together in the video to make each other laugh further pushes that while we get to watch on and we get to enjoy it this is something mostly just for them to make each other laugh.
I'll keep my promises, always.
Yoongi's presence alone in the Fansign is so indicative of how their relationship works. Yoongi seemingly joked on suchwita and again on the live that if Jimin does a fan sign he'll be there.
And while it was to our surprise and Jimin's that he did show up at the end of the fan sign just to make Jimin laugh, it really shouldn't have surprised us or Jimin! Yoongi kept every promise to Jimin that he made even while seemingly joking.
Promises Yoongi Said:
I'll come see you on music shows ✅
If you do a fan sign I'll be one of the people watching ✅
You can come to my concert and do Tony Montana ✅
Then I'll step off and you can do another song ✅
I have to do my own fan sign now, you inspired me to do one ✅
And the funny thing is, back in 2020 Jimin told Yoongi that when he did personal schedules, Yoongi should come and Yoongi said he would. And of course, he did. Because Yoongi keeps his promises to Jimin.
The love is always there
I talked in this post about how there is always caring even when Yoonmin are teasing each other. Feel free to read it but essentially I noted that Jimin was ready to help Yoongi when he thought the lights were too bright, even within that one minute that they had to chat. You're my favorite voice.
Yoongi has spoken multiple times about how jimin's voice is his favorite. He has encouraged his art and pushed Jimin to explore his musicality throughout their journey together in BTS. Which is why it makes me all warm inside that after teasing Jimin and saying that he wants to do a fan sign because of him he asks him to sing for him. Of course Jimin the ever playful imp says no at first but then he does it and even a little choreography. And it's not lost on me that out of the songs on the album, including Like crazy which Jimin was wearing the outfit for he chose to sing Set me free part 2. The song that Yoongi had gone to see him perform on the music show. The song that him and Yoongi were going to do together. Jimin sings for him because he knows it'll make Yoongi smile even if it's cut off halfway. He sings for him because he knows that Yoongi's love for his voice and his talent is genuine.
Shall we do it together?
Ultimately what I love about this video is just the fact that it happened. Yoongi being there meant the world to me and anyone who knows Jimin, knows what it means to him as well. Jimin had Yoongi right by his side for the majority of the face promo, which I talk about here and this is just one of the many ways he showed up.

Truly an iconic live. Touchy feely Jimin. Namkook proposal. JUNGKOOK SAYING "YOONMIN" AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS and also Jimin complimenting Yoongi and making him blush. I like watching this one to see everyone's reactions after jungkook says yoonmin lmao.
