Antique Victorian mahogany long case clock.

The clock came in for restoration after being inherited through the family. The case needed a few little repairs around the case and require the later bracket feet Ito be removed and replaced with a plinth. This help to lowthe clock case so it could noe stand in its new home without scrapping the ceiling . The case was cleaned and French polished .

Antique 1720 mahogany London style clock

The clock case come in for restoration, the case was in need of some restoration to the veneers around the case. This was caused from the base wood moving over time . My biggest issue was the trunk door being badly twisted. The door would need the timber planned of the back of the door leaving the veneer on the front and mouldings untouched . Then anew peace if oak was plainned down and cut and fitted to replace the missing g timber . Then I glued down the original front to the new back. Hopping it wouldn’t snap as it cramped down to remove the twisted timber.The next day the cramps were removed and the door fitted back to the case. The case had some other respires carried out to some missing mouldings to the door and hood . Once all repairs were done the case was cleaned and French polished . The missing brass rods were made and polished with the other bits before being fitted

Antique oak 18th century Bristol eight day clock.

The clock come in for restoration, the case needed to be completely taken apart and rebuilt. The case was very dry causing wood to shrink and crack in places. The base was taken apart and reglued . The plinth was a later addition and was made from pine, this was replaced for a more period style one during restoration.

The hood had some old repairs which were badly done and dried out. Theses were needed to be taken apart to remove the screws and nails before being reglued and repaired correctly. Once all repairs were carried out the case was cleaned and French polished afterwards. Once all polishing was done and waxed, the case had its brassware fitted back to the case. With new brass mounts for the swan necks to replace the damage and missing ones . The case was returned back to my client to have the paint3d dial fitted back in the case .

Antique oak oval welsh longacase clock restoration

This longcase clock come in for restoration, the clock is a rare oval painted dial from Welshpool. The case needed some restoration to the case the base panel needed to be removed from the case as it was fitted flush inside the case and it should sit proud on the case . The shell inlay was missing and needed to be replaced . The case needed plenty of small repairs around the case before being cleaned and French polished . The brassware was cleaned and polished before being fitted back on.
