Singapore Airlines Longest Flight 19 hours
Singapore Airlines Inaugural flight of 19 hours (9,500 miles) took off today on October 11, 2018, on the new A350-900ULR (Ultra Long Range) aircraft. This is the longest commercial flight currently available! It travels from Singapore to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Airbus says their ultra-long range aircraft has a total range of 9,700 statute miles. This famous long-haul route was restored after being dropped by Singapore Airlines in 2013 when Singapore Airlines was phasing out their fuel-guzzling A340 aircraft.
Singapore Airlines is the first Airline to receive the A350-900ULR and has seven more on order, according to the airline. Each airline comes in a two-class configuration of 67 business class and 94 premium economy class seats.
“Singapore Airlines has always taken pride in pushing the boundaries to provide the best possible travel convenience for our customers, and we are pleased to be leading the way with these new non-stop flights using the latest-technology, ultra-long-range Airbus A350-900ULR,” said Singapore Airlines’ CEO, Mr. Goh Choon Phong.
This flight will offer the fastest way to travel between the two cities—in great comfort, with Singapore Airlines’ legendary service —and will help boost connectivity to and through the Singapore hub.
Additional routes for the next A350-900ULR aircraft will be between Singapore to Los Angeles. These will be announced at a later date.
Currently, you can book flights on “the longest flight” for as low as $11,229 CNY ($1,669 USD) and $45,879 CNY ($6,659 USD).
