My WERQ playlist on Spotify includes several #Chinesesongs By far my all time favorite is #Tornado by #JayChou - #longjuanfeng by #zhoujielun At one point I managed to learn how to play a good chunk of it on #piano Alas, I was never a good enough musician to have retained it in my muscle memory. I tried playing it last year and the 15 second clip included in this post is all that I can play now and it took forever to get that back 😂 My excitement for the #curlingworldcup has me nostalgic for the time when I spent a #summer in #China - mostly in Beijing and Chengdu 🐼 Gotta love study abroad programs 💃🏻🕺Language truly is experiential. I used to know way more phrases in #Mandarin - not just singing karaoke but also having basic conversations and even reading and writing some phrases. Bruce Mouat reminded me this morning that it’s been years since I’ve written my name in Chinese... er, the way my name is supposed to be written in Chinese according to a guy I had a huge crush on at school 😂 I did not do Jay Chou justice in my piano cover lol.
