*channels Boyz II Men and belts out End of the Road* because it’s the end of the road for @niklasedin and my #SwedishVikings at the #CurlingWorldCup in #Beijing It hurts my heart that @teamniklasedin lost both of their games today 😭 I’m super bummed because none of their games were featured on tv or the livestream, I think TPTB expected they’d compete for the finals and were saving them, so I’m feeling super deprived of quality #TeamEdin action. #fangirlproblems . . What a ride it’s been though. This is my first full season as Team Edin’s number one major super hardcore fangirl and it’s been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. I oftentimes have to remind myself that meeting them at #ContCup2019 despite the disappointments and heartbreaks I only have myself to blame for, is a highlight of my life. So many fans all over the world could only dream of seeing them play in person, much less get to meet them. It’s looking really doubtful that I can make it to the Players’ Championship next year for my birthday trip, but I’m going to try to save money so I can finally use my US passport I often hide when cheering for @svenskcurling visit Canada and hopefully get a good, proper photo w/ my favorite curling teams. . . All the excitement over the #CurlingWorldCup and tons of photos of elite curlers #sightseeing in #Beijing this week have made me a little nostalgic for a time in my life when I spent the summer living in #China Yes, you bet I did the whole climbing the #GreatWallofChina thing. I’m pretty sure I had a shirt that said I SURVIVED CLIMBING THE GREAT WALL at one point, but it’s long gone now. I wish I could go back and climb the #greatwall again to compare because I was a lot heavier then, albeit younger. I can’t help but wonder if having messed up my right hip and all the issues I have now despite the weight loss combined w/ being several years older would actually be worse. I remember the hike being really challenging. It was also during the summer so it was super hot. I felt like I was gonna die. I’ve asked several #curling athletes this week if they had plans to hug pandas. That’s still my favorite memory from China, although I got to experience that in Chengdu, home of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries, although I’ve had friends who’ve been able to take photos w/ pandas in Beijing, too. Three wins in a row means @teamniklasedin are in serious contention to compete in the @curlingworldcup final this weekend. So happy for @niklasedin and my #SwedishVikings for finally winning against Team Dunstone and for quite the redemption against Team Ba. Game 4 was totally a 180 from game 1 - my #Icevengers shut out the Chinese men 👊💪 . . I really hope that my faves can ride this upward momentum they’ve got going right now and keep on winning. They’ve already defeated both Dunstone and Shuster this week so all we need is another repeat performance 😉 I always acknowledge that I’m biased because I’m #TeamEdin ‘s number one fan (it’s FB official), but I have so much belief and faith in the skill of these talented athletes. I’ve seen them play in person and have spent so much of my life since the 2018 Olympics following their progress in tournaments and I firmly believe they truly are the #bestintheworld The #CurlingWorldCup finals in Omaha and Jonkoping were both disappointing so I’m hoping 3rd times a charm and my Swedes can pull off this victory before summer break. . . Once again @stuckiceline comes through with amazing photos. I love the collages she posts on her IG stories. I think some of my favorite photos of hers are the “through the hole” types. Congratulations to @niklasedin and @teamniklasedin for going 2 for 2 today at the #CurlingWorldCup in Beijing, defeating Team Dunstone (5-4) and Team Shuster (5-2) 👏👏👏 Not a lot of people can say they have an overall winning record against the Swedish skip who’s certainly regarded as the best in the world and at 33 is still young enough to continue cementing his legendary 🐐 status in the #curling history books, but going into today’s draws, Dunstone leads Edin 4-0 head to head, while Shuster leads 10-9. I’m so happy that #NinjaThor is now 1-4 against Dunstone and Even Steven (10-10) against Shuster. Interestingly enough, Edin lost to Dunstone 5-4 the two other times they faced off against each other this season so it’s nice that they were able to pull off the 5-4 win this time around. May this be the start of an unprecedented winning streak. From now on, my Icevengers are not allowed to lose to Dunstone or Shuster ever again. Next on the agenda is chiseling away at Koe’s 21-10 record over Edin. Not gonna lie, I love the blue uniform way better than the white one.
