To be honest, I'm torn. I love Lester to bits and he will always be a Red Sox no matter what happens. However, I can see why they want to trade him, like they traded Nomar. It's really just the business of baseball. At this point, the team has a very small chance of getting into the playoffs. And if Lester is traded, he's a free agent at the end of the season anyway, with the option to sign back with the Sox. So, I don't know... I'm very, very torn.
Oh, I completely understand why the front office is doing this, I just hate it because I’m too attached to Lester as a player and a person. If I took emotion out of it, I would trade him for sure, but it’s so hard look at it without emotion. Especially when you know he wants to stay here. Hopefully he’ll just be a two month rental for a contender then the Sox will sign him in the off season, but ya never know. It’s like CC in ‘08, that’s what people assumed would happen but the Yanks offered him so much that he couldn’t turn it down. And Cleveland got Brantley out of that, so hopefully we’ll get a good prospect like him but no that Yankees part. So I definitely see how you’re torn because I am a bit, too.
