Today marks the end of year 15 in education. I’ve spent 6 years in this room. I won’t lie this has been the longest and hardest year. My wife told me before the year began that if I went back I’d never quit. She maybe right, she maybe wrong, I don’t know. Many times this year I put my head in my hands wondering why I’m still teaching. Usually the end of the year I feel sense of relief, of accomplishment, of pride in what I did, not this year. Right now I just feel tired, sad and worn out. So tomorrow I’m going to go scuba diving, the one thing that has always centered me and made the world disappear.
