my favourite thing is running across a tumblr username in the notes of a post who I vaguely remember from LJ days and it being the same person and icon from then. I’m always gonna appreciate those ppl who ride or die with their brand/aesthetic in these days of frequent url and icon changing.
Was 2016 a good year for you?
I can’t say that it wasn’t, but 2016 was one of those years where it seems like I ended up exactly where I started only older.
What was your favourite experience of the year?
Going to NYC with my family. My uncle was attending a convention there and my cousin tagged along, so we went to hang out with her because NYC is closer then visiting them in Europe.
Did you keep your new year’s resolution of 2016?
I generally don’t make resolutions but I met all the financial/savings goals I made for myself {Although the end of December is trying to make a liar out of me}.
What was your favourite book text content readable thing you read in 2016?
I bought and read A Court of Mist and Fury within the first month of it being released because someone posted a bellarke AU of the first book. Afterwards I went back and read the first book in the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Once again I read and reread way to much bellarke fic. I can’t help the nostalgia of older fics but I’ve read significantly less new stuff from that fandom since September, so that’ll probably change next year.
What was your favourite movie that you saw in 2016?
I really can’t think of a single new one I saw tbh... Rogue One.
What was your favourite TV show that you saw in 2016?
Man in the High Castle? Pitch? Frequency? Critical Role. It’s so much fun and the fanart is unreal. I was just looking for uncharted stuff to reblog and saw these two gifsets and was intrigued. Browsed this tumblr for a bit then watched the first episode with zero expectations.
What did you do in 2016 that you’d never done before?
Like I said, ended up exactly where I started only older.
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Being positive. Focusing on the good things in my life.
What was your favourite experience of the year?
My trip to Vancouver to visit my cousin and his wife. I can’t wait to go back!
Did you keep your new year’s resolution of 2015?
I generally don’t make resolutions but I knocked a few things off my 20 things to do in my 20s list.
What was your favourite book text content readable thing you read in 2015?
The only new book I read this year was Royal Wedding, followed promptly by what little Princess Diaries fic I could find. Comparatively, the book wasn’t that memorable. I started reading Fables while I was in Vancouver. It’s a comic book series and it’s basically the only thing I asked for it christmas this year. Here’s the premise:
Fables is the story of these legends living in the modern day, trying to keep their small community of immortals happy while keeping themselves secret from the “Mundy World.” (x)
In terms of high word count, it’s probably a tie for a couple +20k bellarke fics I read and reread this year.
What was your favourite movie that you saw in 2015?
Here’s a list of some I’ve seen more than once: The Martian, Mad Max: Fury Road, Inside Out, McFarland USA (I’m a sucker for sports movies okay?). In terms of the most memorable, it was probably Ex Machina. Sci-fi thrillers done right are the best and most awesome. Caleb was 100% gonna starve to death. It reminded me of Quantic Dream’s Kara, so now I’m excited for Detroit to eventually come out (for like youtube cut scene marathon purposes, I'm not much of a gamer).
What was your favourite TV show that you saw in 2015?
I’ve been waffling on this one all month, but in the end, Days of Our Lives won out over The 100. I spent forever trying to articulate why I liked these shows (Days and The 100) and everything felt inadequate. I finally realised that while I have a lot of positive feelings associated with these shows, it’s primarily in relation to non-viewing experiences. For Days it’s a gateway to rediscovering the soap genre; for The 100... it’s complicated. So final answer is 12 Monkeys. I was always excited for the next episode, I even tried to get my dad into it so I could go over and watch it live.
What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
made a gif set. wore mostly dresses in the summer. travelled to BC.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Being positive. Focusing on the good things in my life.
I've been able to handle almost all of Tumblr’s ‘updates’ but this is fucking with my dashboard aesthetics in terrible ways. I hope everyone I follow has legible blog aesthetics and readable font.
