Had to label the old trash barrels so the collectors would know to take them
This should be the last post on tumblr before it is shut down.
Is now a bad time to mention I actually don’t hate this site? I hate the owners. Hate the staff. Hate the incompetence of whoever is in charge here.
But I love the site, love the format, love my mutuals, my followers and all of the amazing content creators here. I don’t know what I’ll replace this with if anything.
How To Appeal A Post When You Don’t Have The Appeal Button
Since the 17th about 12 of my posts where flagged as adult content and when I went to try and appeal it there was no appeal button. I went through their help and read the whole article. I even contacted support who then copied and pasted their help page not even trying to assist me. All I know is that there was supposed to be a button for the original creator to click and allow up to appeal but there wasn’t.
On my computer:
On the app:
See no button for appeal.
It has taken me days to figure out this work around and I thought some other people out there might be having this issue.
Now here is how you appeal your post when you don’t have the appeal button
Now go through your blog and find all your pages with censored posts clicking on them to take you to the original post.
Take a look at the url.
See that number there? Copy it!
Open up a new page and type in this:
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/your url/
At the end paste that number.
When you hit enter you will get this:
The appeal button is finally there! Click it!
You’ll get this message and then you’ll click appeal again.
Your post is now being appealed.
You can check that it was fixed just by refreshing your blogs page.
And that’s it! I know it is stupid and ridiculous to do such a ridiculous back method but unfortunately it’s the only solution I’ve come up with.
Also no you can’t just use the weird sidebar dashboard to find it as any flagged posts don’t actually show up at all in it.
Anyways I hope this helps you guys.
Get yourself un-shadowbanned That post seems to be going around a bit but not the reblog on how to fix it, so here’s another
Go to postlimit, put in your blog name, TAKE A SCREENSHOT
Go to tumblr support and file a support ticket. Category: Blog incorrectly marked explicit. Details: posts hidden from search results. Attach the screenshot. Do this even if you’ve already filed a support ticket N days ago without a screenshot. Make sure the relevant blog is chosen and you have the right contact email address.
They got back to me within an hour.
Seriously - follow this. I was shadow-banned, and they fixed it within seconds.
Not an exaggeration - I got the “we received your ticket” and “we’ve fixed it” e-mail in the same minute.
ok I filled this support form out TWICE without hearing back from staff for weeks, but literally the second i sent the form with the screenshot the problem was resolved - there is clearly some sort of bot checking for attachments so this is a genuinely good solution if you’ve been shadowbanned
I sent a support ticket with an attachment (it wasn’t the one mentioned above though) but they still got back to me the minute I sent it - literally.
So, what’s it gonna be, huh? You want your menorah or a candy cane? Hm? Christmas or Hanukkah? Don’t worry about it, buddy, because in this house you don’t have to choose. Allow me to introduce to you a little something that I like to call Chrismukkah. You can’t ruin Chrismukkah. It’s got twice the resistance of any normal holiday.

And if you disagree, smash that unsubscribe button bc we’re being receptive and willing to grow in 2019.

Why? I’ll explain it on the way.
God works in mysterious ways, does he not?
so i guess today people woke up and logged in just to see how crazy this censorship can get - now you can’t even see your own posts if they were (obviously incorrectly) marked as explicit. actually, there’s a way to see them.
you just have to go through the tag you use for your edits. posts that were marked explicit will look like this:
and if you click on the post, you’ll see this:
but take a look at the address bar
this is the post number. if you copy it and go to tumblr dot com/post number, you’ll see the post and will be able to edit it.
you can message support asking to review your post (since now it is the only way i believe) & also add a tag to your flagged posts to check if they’ve been unflagged.
UPDATE:
you still can request a review on mobile. i recommend tagging all your flagged posts with the same tag, then using the app to see if you can request a review (and yeah, don’t forget that now search doesn’t work most of the time, so here’s another tip: make a new post on your blog and tag it with the tag you used for your flagged posts, then click on the tag on mobile). however, it’s not available for some posts. a post of mine that’s being reviewed now looks like this:
a post i can’t request a review for looks like this:
This works! If you have a lot of original posts like me, and don’t want to scroll through your tags looking for posts that are blocked, I’d suggest scrolling through your archive instead and finding the blocked posts that way - they’re pretty easy to spot.
Once you find them, hover over them until the date of the post pops up, and if all that shows up is the date, then the blocked post is a reblog and should/can be left alone (you used to be able to request reviews for reblogged posts, but you can’t anymore, only the OP can now), but any blocked post that shows the date and the number of notes when you hover over it in your archive is an original post of yours and one you can request a review for. Knowing the difference will save you a lot of time and trouble.
the thing that drives me crazy is the flagged notification doesn’t show on any liked posts so i’ve been queuing things from my likes that aren’t showing up. also there are reblogged posts from one sideblog that aren’t flagged but once i reblog to a different sideblog they are flagged. it’s annoying and confusing.
She’s mine.
