One of the first purchases Merrick and Enzo made (after they bought everything Charlotte would need and then some) was an oversized, plush recliner.
Having a place where Merrick could nurse their darling baby and be comfortable while she recovered was of utmost importance, especially after how rough the birth had been on her body. It quickly became their favorite spot... perfect for naps.
Which is what they are currently doing.
Nursing Charlotte always made Merrick tired, an odd sensation where she just couldn't keep her eyes open for the life of her. Having laid the baby along her chest to burp her, they both fell into a nice slumber soon after.
It really is a big recliner. Maybe it's time for the whole family to get some rest.

Unfortunately, Enzo had been unable to avoid the inevitable email calling him back into work. At least he'd had an uninterrupted month of being at home with Merrick and baby Charlotte. And of course he spends any free time he has with them too, no longer bringing work home.
His favourite moments have to be when they're all in the recliner — it's big enough to fit all three of them more than comfortably and it's so comfortable. He usually comes home to find Merrick and Charlotte sleeping peacefully in the recliner.
And who is he to deny himself the small joy of joining them?
Which is how he manages to end up snugly tucked next to Merrick, a hand on their daughter's back and his head on his wife's free shoulder, snoring softly.
