Week One
As an OT3 student, we've been required to set up a blog in order to reflect on our experience whilst on our physical block. This has been week 1 and surprisingly, I'M STILL ALIVE!😱😂 The adjustment will definitely take "some getting used to" with all the new illnesses that we see - which more often than not is actually some seemingly 'random' letters a doctor writes in a client's file - having to transition from assessment to treatment of clients this year, adapting to a new environment and let's not forget learning how to blog (another skill to add to our longgg list of AMAZING skills within this profession😝).
This week has however been refreshing as I was able to actually see theory (which I admittedly, didn't even know I had absorbed🙈) being put into practice and begin to see how OTs make a difference in the multidisciplinary team by thinking of ways to improve/compensate within a client's functional areas through our client-specific interventions, even before the client realises the need for it themselves.
