I never realized until today that the Internet Archive has a collection of original Andrew Loomis drawing/art books in PDF form available for download! How did this slip under my radar?!
Below is a link to the collection on the Archive.
Here's a little guide about the planes of the head!
I drew a very simple frontface viewed from a low angle. I added the sketch before I drew the facial features, but after I marked out the support lines, for those who are interested in the Loomis method.
🚧 WIP check in 🏗️ . Taking some advice to make the shading darker to add more realism. I feel like my second attempt is closer to reality, with the shape of the head.
Every attempt is one more on the path to better 💪🏻
Third portrait trying to learn the Loomis method! ^-^
I can't really get the hang of how to follow the facial guidelines without the outer circle ending up too big, if that makes sense, but I'll keep trying!!
people… the loomis method is straight up goldmine
It looks like Chommang's method suits me the best
