Somewhere, a loon. 𝘰𝘳 Looning in the distance I could hear them, but I couldn't see them. The one(s) you hear are all on this lake, to the right, behind that peninsula. They were communing with other loons on other lakes in the area before they all fell silent, immediately I finished this video. In fact, there were thirty more seconds of silence. As I scanned the distant shore a small group of them swam into view. They were joined by at least two more, which I caught as they landed, but again, too, too far away. I shouldn't even be showing these! I waited after they disappeared behind the peninsula on the left, hoping they were making the rounds. They would be closer then, possibly even swim along the water's edge in front of me. Perhaps the lake is larger over there, but they never emerged.
