WEEEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEE I’m gonna put the loon lore here because I accidentally deleted all of my asks 😭 (also loore is golden btw I am dying and also stealing that)

OKAY SO

for some context, Loon (was) an archivist for a corrupt church that runs the town that the campaign @sproutinoid is running. This church has many problems, but the main one is their pretty awful discrimination towards anyone who isn’t human-adjacent. (ie Dragonborn, Tabaxi, Teiflings, etc.)

Loon spent the first thirty ish years of his life doing his job pretty much without question, ignorant to the pretty awful things the church was doing. However, after noticing discrepancies between what was actually in the archives, and after meeting a Tabaxi revolutionary named Goose on a trip to the mines, his faith in the church began to waver and eventually crumble entirely. Because he was pretty brainwashed, and pretty stubborn, this would take a while, and he got into arguments with Goose pretty regularly. But, after not quite being able to stop himself from following Goose around everywhere, and thus seeing some of the horrible things the church was doing first-hand, he was swayed, and ended up falling for Goose. The two would eventually move in together and get “married” (beastfolk-human marriage wasn’t a legally recognized thing, but they exchanged rings and had a small ceremony). Loon kept his job, but tried to destroy the church as much as he could from the inside quietly. Goose would continue to loudly fight against the church. The two lived like this for years, but unfortunately, at one of the protests, Goose was killed by a stray fireball sent out by a member of the church. Loon had no idea how to process his husband’s death, so he stole an important-looking tome and quit his job as an archivist. For around six-ish months, he lived in a pretty depressive state, not really having anything to do in life but look at the book he had stolen, which happened to be a book on wizardry. One day, though, he heard word of a new party being formed, one that was going to take down the church once and for all that needed new recruits.
