«Why did you save me?» He asked, turning his head toward the puppet. Despite the darkness, Corvi realized he could see without trouble, almost as if the room was bathing in sunlight. «Because I can do whatever I please, what a silly question.» Replied Arlecchino, before adding: «You are a masterpiece of human suffering. I could gaze upon you all day… and I will.» Corvi shifted uncomfortably on the couch. «Are you going to keep me locked in here forever?» He murmured, dreading the answer he would receive. «I would avoid giving me such ideas if I were you. I might follow through with them.» The puppet laughed, a deep, loud, distorted sound that filled the room with fear. «No, nothing like that. Au contraire, I have an offer for you — one I am confident you will not be able to refuse.» Arlecchino smirked, leaning toward Corvi, who silently stared back.
