but also, YES! I forreal get the feeling that black creatives have been made to feel obligated to torture ourselves. Like what we think and feel and believe isn’t worthy of being shared unless it has to do with the kinds of pain that are largely unique to or at least prevalent in ~the black community~. And it’s just. So fucking sad. I wanna write about the other Me who lives in the pleiades cluster and is bound to me by quantam string but nobody wants to hear that story out of a black person when clearly I’m supposed to be talking about how I ~never felt beautiful in my skin~ or what the fuck ever.

2019 was a very good year for movies. In my opinion, there are (at least) three masterpieces coming out of this calendar year. But every film cannot be a masterpiece. Some films fail, are made poorly, or are downright offensive. 2019 had plenty of those, as well.
