Plot: It's Father's Day weekend. Carver, Lor and Tish agree not to tell Tino their plans because they don't want to make him unhappy, but what does Father's Day mean to Tino since his Dad doesn't live with him? Trivia: When Carver breaks the fourth wall in the first scene, the camera zooms out to reveal that Tino had been overhearing their secret plan all along.

Plot: Lor fractures her kneecap after playing basketball, and she needs to get laser surgery for it come Sunday. She goes paranoid about the surgery, describing it as kind of a death sentence. Therefore, she writes a will bequeathing all her items to her loved ones... except for Tish. Trivia: Mrs. Tonitini does not appear in this episode.

Plot: Lor is under pressure when she must sink three baskets in a row to win $10,000, and thinks that losing will end her friendship with Tino, Carver and Tish. Trivia: Lor's Dad is voiced by Jeff Bennett, best known for playing Johnny Bravo.

Plot: Lor's grades are slipping, so Mr. MacQuarrie assigns a tutor for her. When she finds out the tutor is her crush Thompson Oberman, she devises a plan to win him over. Trivia: This is the last Thompson x Lor episode, but Thompson will make another appearance in the Mini Racers scene in "Tino's Dad" episode.

What inspired The Weekenders → Peanuts | Dialogue

One of the main things I thought about when working on the show was Peanuts. The old Peanuts specials. The strip. More the strip than the TV specials. The strip had this thing - I don't know how old the characters were supposed to be, eight or ten or something? But they always talked to each other like adults. Not necessarily about adult stuff, but their vocabularies were not childish at all. They would have these philosophical conversations, and I thought: “I want our show to be more like that.” [ Doug Langdale, The Weekenders creator ]

Q: Lor's mother got the short end of the stick when it came to the kids' parents. Would there have been any plans to develop her more in relation to her children and her husband? Doug Langdale: I wouldn't say that we had plans, but that is definitely true. It felt like, because Lor had so many brothers, her mom must have just been laying down in a dark room with a cold compress over her eyes. She must have been exhausted. Lor's parents were the least prominent parents in the show, and part of that was because the whole joke was you'd go to Lor's house, and there'd be all these boys running around screaming. So that was the focus of it. But eventually, if we had done infinity episodes, we definitely eventually would have gotten around. (Source)
