Loras frowned at Meera’s words. The situation only seemed to worsen as time went on. He had entertained the foolish notion that once Bran returned home, he would return to how he had once been - inquisitive, adventurous, full of life. Not what he was now, silent and impassive. It was eerie how much becoming the three-eyed raven had changed Bran, but Loras couldn’t begin to comprehend what the boy was going through.

Loras shook his head. “I don’t believe I’d be any more successful at that…The only person Bran might still respond to is gone.” Bran had cared for Jojen in much the same way Loras had loved Renly, but when the White Walkers came there was nothing Loras could have done to save the Reed boy. Two loves lost under his watch. Robb had asked him to keep Bran safe, and he had done as much, but the cost had been great.

Meera watches Loras for a moment, he’s as saddened by Bran’s regression as the rest of them, but he might understand it better. He’d lost Renly, and if anything he was more useful then Sansa. Sansa was trying but didn’t seem to understand the kind of loss her brother was facing. 

“I don’t know.” Meera sighs, her own mind was still plagued with the memory of her brother’s small body going limp in her arms. “You know what this feels like, to loose someone you love. Maybe he’ll listen to you, and if nothing else you’re strong enough to force him to at least bathe. I threatened too but I think he knows he outweighs me.”

A long minute goes by in silence, and then she says. “I think I need to go home. Back to Greywater Watch. I haven’t been back in years and - and Bran doesn’t want or need me here anyway.”

“I am taller then Jojen!” Bran snaps. “But yeah, I’m little spoon.” He feels his face flush slightly. “I-It’s nice, I like laying against him. Listen to his heart at night.”
