SGATGK is obviously an absolute trip for gawain but i haven’t seen anyone mention how insane this story is from Bertilak’s perspective. because they made a point to tell us he’s a real guy. like imagine you’re a lord out in some secluded castle and the magical old lady that lives in your house is like hey i wanna epic prank my sister in law can i turn you green and also kind of giant to go mock my half brother and all his knights. okay awesome and then you’re gonna let him cut off your head but dw it’ll be fine and awesome. and not only does he agree to it, slay the role, but i don’t think the whole exchange of winnings game was even part of her test of Gawain’s honor (???) like. he just did that because he wanted to. what even.
