Follow up question. Maybe you've answered this already, but I scoured the tag and couldn't find it. I have made my own pantheon for D&D and there are deities in there that I would absolutely love to work with, but I have this doubt? Barrier? Because I made them up. I have trouble seeing them on the same level as historical deities. Did you have this too? And if so, how did you overcome it?
Also, I'd love to hear more about Lord Ruby!
My philosophy is: If I'm not hurting anyone else does it really matter who I worship? To my understanding the historical deities were made to explain different phenomena that happened. People all across the world have a god of water so why can't I have one for myself?
Basically to me it's like taking sand from the pantheon sandbox and playing with it in a bucket on a different side of the playground.
Lord Ruby
He's the God of the Hearth, Home and Hospitality. His BIG thing is Family and taking care of those around you. He's the god of trade skills and crafting. Hmm what else. He's got fire for hair, that's always good to know.
