She drove her sword through the last demon. Finally. She quickly scanned her surroundings, making sure there weren't any more lurking close by. When she wasn't ambushed, Rumi relaxed her stance. Until she heard the sounds of a flash followed by a hard thud behind her.

The hunter whipped around, ready for anything. Instead of more demons, she was faced with a man. An unconscious man lying on the ground. "Oh shi--" She cursed under her breath, rushing over to him. Rumi knelt by his side, and checked his pulse. A relieved breath left her to find he was still breathing.

Had he been caught in the crossfire? She was certain there hadn't been any civilians nearby. It was like this guy appeared out of nowhere.

"Hey!" She called out to him, lightly slapping his face a couple of times to hopefully rouse him. "Can you hear me? Are you okay?"

She doesn't have time to be suspicious of the stranger who seemly just appears out of thin air. Not when she was surrounded by a hoard of demons that managed to catch her alone (an effort she's sure was carefully orchestrated). For now, the other seemed more ally than threat, and she'd take all the help she could get right now.

Still, even as they weed through the creatures, Rumi is deeply aware of the man's presence. She had plenty of questions: where did he come from, how did he get here, and what exactly did he know? She tries to put the questions out of her mind, at least until the last of this threat was eliminated.

But once the last demon is dust, she's quick to turn on her heels to face him. "Who are you?" she demands. She raises her sword at him, careful to keep her distance. "Not to be ungrateful but..." 'Better safe than sorry' goes unspoken.

“You dropped something.” She managed to reach out and tug lightly on his sleeve to get his attention, before finally pointing at the item on the floor. It certainly wasn’t hers.

Strange- While Catherine wasn't one to complain over physical contact, she couldn't help but ponder as to why this stranger would take the time to cup her chin. The thought didn't cross her mind for long once her eyes met his in a gaze filled with slight confusion, yet a hint of curiosity. "Well, I suppose I should say hello?" Her words were no more than a mutter as her gaze remained set on him, her head tilting off to the right ever so slightly in thought as she tried to predict how exactly this interaction was going to go.

A rather loud thunder startles Malina, and she glances up with a slight frown when she immediately realizes the Sun's presence, shining so bright in the blue sky upon her. There is no storm threatening to appear. Where did that thunder come from?

Shrugging it off, the young woman finishes collecting water in her medium-sized jug and walks back home, passing through the dense jungle vegetation and listening to the sounds of birds and little squirrels nearby. However, when she moves a large leaf out of her way, she finds a pale young man dressed in unusual clothing standing there, and Malina immediately knows he's not from around here at all, if his slightly confused expression as he scans his surroundings is any indication, along with his exotic but intriguing appearance.

"May I help you? You seem lost." Malina says almost in a soft whisper, hoping she doesn't scare him. She glances at him in a mix of curiosity and concern, trying to maintain a respectful distance.

She reached up to gently pat the orb of light that was hiding behind her shoulder and tucked into her hair. There was no reason to be scared of strangers, well, most of them anyway. "Easy, Soap. It's fine."

He was tall, dark, and severe looking, but there was no harm in existing.

Still, Chandler kept a hand near her hip where she stored a dagger. Meeting strangers on the road was a gamble anyway, and Orris and Xarim weren't here to help if there was trouble. Gods, she shouldn't have run off on her own. One track mind, looking for her dad the way she was. Chandler was going to get herself killed this way.

"Good evening. Passing through too?" she asked, attempting to be cheerful and non-threatening.

           “ Rover,  I was told you needed help with — ”           nothing apparently.   Jinhsi’s silhouette came to an abrupt halt when she opened the door leading out towards an ornately decorated terrace and saw him appear about as misplaced as she felt.   Changli had been so insistent about it :   from the way she’d phrased it,   one ought to believe that it was absolutely urgent the Magistrate interrupt her work and go seek out Rover in an instant ––   and yet,   with the early afternoon sun painting the outline of Jinzhou underneath in a warm, golden tone,   it appeared that the only urgency stemmed from the freshly brewed pot of tea sat upon a small table threatening to cool down.             Ah,  the enforced breaks ––   she’d begun to wonder when it would catch up with her.   Jinhsi closed the door behind her and joined @lordarbxter at the railing overlooking the city.            “ It’s beautiful,  isn’t it ?   I find it prettiest just after dusk,   when the stars begin to emerge from behind thin clouds … ”           A breath,           “ I rarely get to go on walks that late anymore. ”

Nyx walked through what appeared to be a city. A fantasy city by the looks of it, looking like some of the old buildings in Asia. The goddess walked around the streets as she looked up at the city skyline.
