Spent a lovely evening with Peter and Robbie at Lord Byron. The food was delicious, the company entertaining and the atmosphere warm and cozy. Crab pasta for 2 😋 Lisa & I shared this along with a salad at Lord Byron last night along with a cocktail or two. A few more friends were there too. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. I'm being very lazy today & haven't got myself together yet. Met up with Hugh & Rania at Lord Byron. They've both been so busy that this was the first opportunity we've had to sit down somewhere together. Well, I couldn't resist the #crabpasta - and I'm glad I didn't .... it was excellent as usual. I felt I'd earned it after my walk today. First #crabpasta for this year .... & extremely yummy it was too! Lord Byron was filled with friends & known faces & I had a most enjoyable evening there. Stayed up far longer than I intended but it was worth it. A slice of Molly's stupendous carrot cake can always be relied on to cheer you up. I'd like to thank everybody who wrote messages yesterday. They helped me a lot to get through a sad day. I apologise for not replying individually, but I'm still feeling too emotional. Will take it very easy today .... and I think it's time to at least make an attempt to be fitter. I was just going to go out for a stroll, but the inviting lights outside Lord Byron beckoned me in. Had a lovely chat with Molly at the bar, thoroughly enjoyed another beef and vegetable soup & finished my repast with a divine New York cheesecake. A number of friends drifted in and by the time I left, the place was full. I Iove these impromptu meetings with friends. After shivering at home for most of the day, it was a pleasure to walk into the cozy warmth of Lord Byron. Met up with a few friends, had a scrumptious beef and vegetable soup at the bar along with a couple of delicious Valentine's Day cocktails - Cupid's Kiss. A lovely evening. Good news is that Robbie'll come round tomorrow and see if he can get my heater working better .... would be wonderful if he could. Back home now & having an early night. The first part of the evening didn't go as planned - couldn't get the juicer to work, gave up & will try again tomorrow. The evening at Lord Byron was fabulous - a pre-opening gathering of friends for drinks and the most incredible buffet food. A joyous start to the season. The island has a certain charm when there are few places open, but I always look forward to the opening of #lordbyronios Stuffed myself on delicacies, downed a few margaritas & staggered off home.
