Lorde is a great lyricist. She does an amazing job of crafting an image. Sometimes I am not even sure where she is headed with the stories she creates. She has countless amazing lines and songs. But, none will ever be as substantial and defining as this line from Supercut. In my head I do everything right. In my head I do everything right, I do. 

We are all the protagonists of our own story. When we look at the future, we never see all the bad it can contain. We never predict that we’ll get angry in the heat of the moment and say something wrong. We never predict that we will hurt someone else’s feelings. We just do. But when we look ahead at what will happen tomorrow, we don’t see those moments. We see everything we will do right. We see ourselves winning the argument. We see everyone noticing our haircut. We see getting what we think we are owed. In our heads, we are all there is. 

We cannot regret the future until it is the past. 

We cannot regret what has yet come to pass. We can only think about what we will do. We will always do everything right.

My favourite part of "Supercut" by Lorde is that one minute where it's just the music because wowwwwwww!!!!! Istg, if my future partner can't make me feel the same way Supercut makes me feel, I don't want them. Return and re-order, thank youuuuu
