@lordlymaelstrom (Time for some Misaleon Angst)
Even Misaki, the heir to the Genesis and Oracle Think Tank clans, could not have foreseen this hellish reality she had found herself in. How could she? The Leon that stands before her, having recently been crowned the king of United Sanctuary after having killed King Alfred and usurping the throne, was nothing like the prince she had grown up knowing. Was that part of his plan? To put up the prefect prince act so no one in either the Oracle Think Tank or Genesis clans would look into him? At this point, she wouldn't put it past him.
Misaki feels at fault for being powerless to stop anything. By the time she arrived at the palace, it was too late. King Ahmes was dead. Aichi and Kai were forced to go on the run and were missing, and Emi and her mother had been exiled to who knows where in exchange for their lives. Worse yet, her marriage agreement now meant she was engaged to that blonde monster, since he was now the heir to the throne of the United Sanctuary. Being engaged to someone she saw like a little brother was awkward enough, but this? This was even worse! Now she is stuck with the very guy who betrayed her and everyone she knew and loved. Just great…
Still, she wasn't about to just let things stand. She may not be able to stop Leon right now on her own, considering she was very much outnumbered, but…she could at least make the point she wasn't going to just sit around and be his pretty little fiancé. If they were really stuck together like this for the time being, then, oh boy, she was going to make his life a living Hell. After all, he can't hurt her as per the terms of the agreement. So, she was free to speak her mind as much as she wanted, the girl planning to use her words as her weapon to try and get the edge in this somehow.
"How could you, Leon?! How could you have done this?!" Misaki moves forward to slap him on the face, adding further emphasis to his words. Luckily such an action didn't break their agreement. Couples get into spats all the time, don't they? "Did all those years we spent together with Aichi and Kai, all those years our nations spent on building good relations with each other, mean nothing to you?!"
If any part of the friend that existed in her memory was still there, then those words should sting. It hurt her to even say them, Misaki doing her best to hold it together and remain strong. She couldn't show him any form of weakness. She couldn't let him win, not when she was the only one here who had the ability to push back at least somewhat.
"Mark my words. You won't get away with this…Aichi and Kai will come back. They'll come back and together…we'll end your reign of terror and make you pay for your crimes. Count on that." In truth, she doesn't know that for sure. Despite her best efforts, any attempts to see into Aichi or Kai's futures ended in failure. For some reason, their future was clad in shadows, as if someone was hiding it from her. Just where were those two?
Until they returned, it was up to her to hold down the fort. It wouldn't be easy, but Misaki couldn't let her friends down. They had done so much for her, being there for her when her own parents died and helped her become the person she is now. She owed it to them to be strong and stand up to Leon, even at the cost of herself.
