@daybreakrising, random dialogue prompts !!
growing up in the throes of war, in a time where it is kill or be killed, ought to make any child emotional, right? yet, tobirama had composure that his brethren clearly found jarring, unfathomable — he was of the belief that feeling and expressing anger and sorrow was not going to resolve any conflict. rules shall resolve conflict, not emotions. emotions were merely contributing to and perpetuating the sheer lawlessness about.
he wouldn’t answer his brother’s question directly, but he would provide insight as to what prompted him to ask it. ❝ the sight of medium surprises you is because it is unheard of but needed. all parties involved in this war are influenced by extremes. ❞ so, in his eyes, his nonchalance was not wrong. it may be baffling, which he could understand given the rareness of it in these circumstances, but that was just the thing: this world needed a change, for something different, to materialize.
Kawarama merely eyed his brother with a look that was equal parts confusion and bemusement. Tobirama had always been... different. At least in comparison to their other brothers. He was used to his somewhat distant behaviour, but it was still a curious thing to his mind. “You know it is okay to express yourself, hm? You do not have to be so...” He waved a hand, indicating his brother’s stoic nonchalance. “... flat.”
It was the only word he could bring to mind to describe it. Having just spent time with his eldest brother, the contrast of Hashirama’s vibrant and expressive nature to Tobirama’s closed and silent presence was blindingly apparent. “The world will not fall apart if you smile, brother.” The tease passed his lips upon the hint of a smirk. It had taken time to find it in him to laugh and joke again, so he took every opportunity to seek the normal again. “Though your face may crack a little.”
