She hoped that it would put him in a better mood. Not that the silver-haired woman could tell exactly when he was in a good mood, but she hoped that she would be able to one day find out just what makes Tywin happy as of late. “Your wine. Cersei had not noticed as first, giddy as she had been during the whole feast, waiting for the announcement. Rhaegar and her were to be married. She had been waiting for this since she was six years old, had dreamed of it.
Oh, and she had prepared for it, for sure. She had been wearing her most beautiful dress, her favourite pearls, and on her wrists, the oil her mother had loved so much. Lavender. It was something she seldom did, for she was always afraid of Father catching her. He would not like it, for sure. He does not like when something reminds him.
The announcement had not come.
She remembered, now. At some time, Father had gone and came back to the table with the colour drained from his face, and now she could guess why.
She was done crying on her aunt’s lap. Lions do not cry. Lions do not weep. I will find someone else, and better. He will regret he did not take me for a wife.
However, she deserved an explanation. There had to be one. Who would refuse her ?
