05.11.19 ~ Restoring Esteem for Positions in Society

Education 5 of 16 

Too many generations who experience the outpouring of the Spirit forfeit their desires for training and education in order to do “the Lord’s work.” As noble as that sounds, it comes from a misunderstanding of real ministry aided by the idea that we will be taken out of here at any moment. 

This is a tender subject, as we must be ready to be with the Lord at any given moment. But as the Church regains the value for no job is secular for the believer, the esteem will return for the positions in society that had little value in prior generations. 

Colossians 3:20 to 4:1 (VOICE)

Children: obey your parents in every way. The Lord is well pleased by it. 

Fathers: don’t infuriate your children, so their hearts won’t harbor resentment and become discouraged. 

Slaves: obey your earthly masters in all things. Don’t just act earnest in your service only when they are watching. Serve with a sincere heart (even when others aren’t watching), fearing the Lord who is always watching! So no matter what your task is, work hard. Always do your best as the Lord’s servant, not as man’s, because you know your reward is the Lord’s inheritance. You serve the Lord, the Anointed One, and anyone who does wrong will be paid his due because He doesn’t play favorites.

And to you masters: treat your slaves fairly and do what is right, knowing that you, too, have a Master in heaven.

Romans 1:1 (Passion)

Paul, a loving and loyal servant of the Anointed One, Jesus. He called me to be his apostle and set me apart with a mission to reveal God’s wonderful gospel. I write this letter to all his beloved chosen ones in Rome, for you have been divinely summoned to be holy in his eyes. May his joyous grace and total well-being, flowing from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, rest upon you.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (VOICE)

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that. At that time, you will call out for Me, and I will hear. You will pray, and I will listen. You will look for Me intently, and you will find Me. Yes, I will be found by you,” says the Eternal, “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations where you’ve been scattered—all the places where I have driven you. I will bring you back to the land that is your rightful home.”

Questions: ~ What do I think of as purely secular that could never be redeemed by God or the Church? Am I correct?  ~ What is my Lord’s work? What is my passion? What has God given me to understand and learn about? Am I following His leading in this?

Prayer:

Father -  Thank you for being with me and for teaching me about your kingdom and your values. Help me to learn them well and apply them well to all situations I find myself in. Help me to seek you first and to honor your followers in society that seek to train and educate more of your followers. Yes + Amen.
