🎧 ... a song used for writing my muse

not gonna lie, there's a lot! i also really like listening to skyrim's official soundtrack, or ambient / atmospheric versions like these; the visuals really help calm me down too. (fun fact: did you know that jeremy soule, who produced the ost, has an entire album called "skyrim atmospheres" that you can actually buy on vinyl?) sometimes i write better with instrumentals, sometimes i write better with vocals. it all depends on my mood & the mood of whatever i'm writing!! but if i had to choose one...

wild tigers i have known — emily jane white. i first heard this song on 8tracks (i miss u 8tracks!!!) back in... 2017, maybe? & ever since then i have loved it. not just because it's a very beautiful song with interesting lyrics, but because i used to have it on a playlist when i was developing remi. so it's almost like a little blast to the past & a hello to past lis / remi at the same time!!

📣 ... a song for when my muse is upset or angry

depends on the type of anger / upset! she's the type to cry when she gets very angry, so there's that... (me too, honestly) if it's true & pure anger, then:

eyes on fire — blue foundation. i can't explain it fully but... yeah. yeah. her anger is not explosive like you would think a dragonborn's would be; it's oddly calm, which i suppose makes it more terrifying. her eyes are very emotional & telling. when her usually gentle expression holds only emptiness & her gaze is trained on you... it's scary. it doesn't last very long, though, because like i said: she tends to tear up when truly angry (usually because of injustice, betrayal, etc) & the intimidation factor goes down. :(

if it's sadness, there's a lot. if i had to choose:

death with dignity — sufjan stevens. yeah.......... especially these lyrics that make me want to cry each time because for so long she thought she needed to be forgiven & that was the reason she was not as loved as she should've been (growing up) but truly, it was her mother who needed to apologize: i forgive you, mother, i can hear you. / & i long to be near you. / but every road leads to an end. / yes, every road leads to an end.

into the woods (cilla jane) — every time i listen to it, i envision the animals as different divines as remilia goes through her journey (upon first learning she is dragonborn). the owl is jhunal / julianos, the wise. the fox is shor / lorkhan, the creator or trickster depending on pantheon & who you ask. the deer is kyne / kynareth, the mother of free beasts; both land, sea, & sky.

secunda (jeremy soule) — i know this is part of the skyrim soundtrack so i don't know if it counts but!
