Jewelry enthusiast, [REDACTED], uses wealth to purchase coal vein rumored to hold minerals that could make her a millionaire. Townsfolk doubt the legitimacy of these claims.

When asked what she plans to use the wealth for she responds

"Simply put, I want to put it back into the community. The town may be small but some of the minds here are far from it. I want to run for mayor and change this town into a place where we can grow the next generation of geniuses!"

She proceeds to explain how she would do so by putting the money into schools and bulding a university. She then proceeds to talk about the possibilities of diamonds in the coal vein as she shows off her collection of diamond jewelry.

Townsfolk are against the idea and show a dislike towards her. Most say she always tries some get rich quick scheme and claim its for the good of the people.

"Just last week she was goin' on and on about the concept of digital stocks with... what was it called? Cryptic currency? She's been investing in all that and is tryin' to get us in on it too, callin' it the future of money."

Despite the backlash, [REDACTED] went through with the plan and hired local men and a nearby mining company to excavate for her. Those who we know are on the team are...

[ALL REDACTED] and Tobiah Rodger, who is coming out of retirement from the mining business for his family.

I’m totally down to hear some behind-the-scenes lore for your stuff! Especially from With Two Seeming Bodies but One Heart! It’s so good I can’t even begin to tell you.

So for But One Heart I haven't stated it outright, but I am fully moving away from the watchers lore here. I thought hard about including it, but there's a hundred different iterations out there, and having not watched Evo yet myself I didn't feel super comfy with the territory so I said 'hey what if I did cool meta without watchers in it'

SO instead we have more directly minecraft-meta-influenced storytelling, with coding and admins and servers and players all being quite real, but also a little bit unknowable. They're binary sure, but they're something More too, and that something more can really bite you in the butt if you're not careful. There may even be some end poem references coming down the pike...

That means the Grian Angst in this bad boy is gonna be entirely the result of his own choices as admin, and some unintended consequences of those choices playing out in interesting ways 👀

He and Jimmy are the key players in the bigger picture for But One Heart, and their meta directly impacts each other. I cannot WAIT for y'all to see how it plays out 😁!!!!

Okay, first of all, thanks for the long, well-thought-out response. I can now continue to believe that Jily stayed together after school, because I really can’t see them living far apart after spending so many years under the same roof. I do have questions - is the existence of Potter Manor canon? Because I’ve seen it in tons of fics, but I always hc that James’ parents stayed in Godric’s Hollow... Also, how do you know when they died? I haven’t seen that info anywhere before! Anyway, thank you!

first of all - you’re welcome! I love writing stuff like that.

second - I’ve just spent the last ten minutes researching Potter Manor lore/Potter family lore because I am way too comfortable procrastinating all the things I have to do. I will admit that, despite my previous understanding, I do believe Potter Manor is fanon, not canon. sigh. fooled again.  HOWEVER, imo, there are fanon things that have just become so platformed within the fandom (Sirius Orion Black, anyone?) that they just might as well be canon, especially because we can hiss and boo at JKR and wave our shiny fanon material at her from afar.  

I imagine that Potter Manor comes from the fact that the Potters were just filthy rich from Fleamont’s Sleekeazy fortune and the ancestral Peverell gold.  It’s also perfectly possible that they lived in Godric’s Hollow, given that the Peverells were one of the ancient families who lived there.

as for when Fleamont and Euphemia died, here’s a quote from a Pottermore article on the Potter line: “Fleamont and Euphemia lived long enough to see James marry a Muggle-born girl called Lily Evans, but not to meet their grandson, Harry. so, since J and L probably got married in 1978-9 and then had Harry in 1980, it’s pretty probable that they died in ‘79. also, what’s with this ‘James only got the cloak after his parents died’ nonsense?? I abjectly refuse to believe anything but the idea that he used it for all sorts of mischief and mayhem at Hogwarts. SMH!
