Im trying to write my dragon’s lore and in the process have had to sort of imagine what each flight’s exaltee system would look like.
I’m going to share mine when I finish the list but if anyone has any head cannons PLEASE leave them here thanks 🙏
I really want to see what everyone thinks. I know I have a slightly darker tone to my lore than most people take.
(Ex. Ice is very intense and has a “for the greater good” you are not larger than the sum of the parts attitude. They have a very rigidly structured military / government system.
Nature having a very peace love and plants friendly outward facing side but is deeply toxic and manipulative if you step too far out of line. I think they’d have like a stupid amount of ambassadors; you can’t keep track of everyone you’re supposed to.)
Could you all tell me your Flight and the main export of your clan? (Exports are goods and services that are produced in one country and sold to buyers in another.)
I have had a terrible, no-good day to a terrible no-good year. I need something to keep my mind off things. Maybe some lore tidbits from other clans may help?
I have become way too attached to Fridolin's parents .
Their names are . Fabian and Kari 🩷🩷🩷 .
+ their pokemon
Somewhat small loredump ... infodump ... ???
Family basics are that Fridolin is related to sage Bronius through his mother , she's Bronius' daughter because hell yeah .
Fabian and Kari raised Fridolin with the mentality that , so long as he has a good enough lie or excuse made up to avoid negative consequences for his actions , anything he does is A-OK !!
They don't care for their son AT ALL , hence why they just up and leave without him during team plasma's fall . They each care about themselves first and foremost , then for the other after that , but Fridolin was of no importance to them whatsoever . They cared only enough to raise him into what they thought would be independence .
It wasn't independence . Fridolin relied heavily on the safety and reassurance his parents gave him through supporting his constant lies , in most cases even helping him flesh out and perfect said lies . He was devastated when they left him .
Kari is , like her son , part of team plasma because of familial ties . Fabian joined team plasma because he was severely down on his luck and the motive of pokemon liberation gave him the idea that it'd let him " atone " for his less than friendly prior life choices . In the end he stayed for Kari , the liberties it gave him and the way it only encouraged his lifestyle of lying to get his way . Neither him nor Kari have much , if any actual loyalty to team plasma's idea of pokemon liberation .
The stream of dragons training for exaltation through the Chattering Tower is a variable trickle at best. The Tower doesn't offer much outstanding in terms of training, and most local trainers consider this avenue a side job. The trainees usually come in small flocks, a handful of them passing through, sweeping through the shops and market stalls with coins loose in their pockets before moving on to their loftier goals elsewhere.
That last part is what draws their scant numbers here and what makes the local merchants perk up at seeing unfamiliar faces. Where they are going, they won't need money anymore and what little possessions they won't take with have already been turned to coin rather than remain as hard-to-barter second-hand items.
Most trainees are very happy to spend indeed. Treats, trinkets to send back home to a proud family or leave with a friend are popular, or small personal items to bring with as a memory of this time. Even more common is good food for the training and the road, a bed a bit more luxurious than they would normally afford just for a night, one last performance to enjoy from the local theatre troupe. Small pleasures to enjoy in the moment without adding extra weight to their already slim luggage.
The Chattering Tower is a mish-mash of flight cultures and dragon origins. There is no exclusive loyalty to the Arcanist oozing from every stone here. Prospective exalts can seek out local diplomants for advice on where to continue with their journey regardless of what deity they aim to serve. As is common elsewhere too amongst dragonkind, there is a general respect towards those who dedicate themselves to training and study this way (because oh, yes, becoming an exalt of a deity isn't all about one's body while neglecting the mind), even outside of them forming an important, if relatively small, niche in the local economy.

Milo is regrettably fond of the occasional flocks of future exalts passing through. They're a hopeless romantic, dreaming of grand gestures and a new crush every other week. And the tragic romance of a handsome stranger just passing through, headed for a noble fate they cannot return from? Oh, it tugs on their heart every time. A brush of claws while exchanging glass trinket for gold, a searching gaze that lingers just a little bit too long, and Hellasa knows Milo is going to be doing little else but sighing with bittersweet dreaminess for the next week.
For the lore ask game thing - I notice that there are a few not-so-scary dragons in Ghost's Edge. would you want to highlight/discuss some of them?
Oooh good ask, good ask-
Tama here is the first I'll hold up! She's a real sweetheart. Keeps a lot of the clan at ease with her tea blends, and a good listening ear, really. They have no alterior motives, and just genuinely are a good dragon! She enjoys being able to help others and offer advice to those who are struggling, be it others in the clan, or dragons just passing through.
Wysp is another non-threatening little one! They're mischevious, maybe, but wish no harm on anyone at all. They just like to play and make new friends :] Their best friend, though is-
Dizzy! It's a little more mischievous and loves playing pranks on the unsuspecting passerby- Nothing malicious though. Most they'd do is maybe sneak a harmless bug or something in someone's nest- Even then, it'd only do that if it had witnessed a dragon being particularly nasty to someone else.
Both Wysp and Dizzy, while dragon-shaped, aren't fully dragons still. But they're definitely the most nonthreatening of the beasties in my lair of that sort haha.
